Enjoy the thrills and excitement of falconry at the Birds of Prey and Conservation Centre, with over 70 birds and 30 species.Eagles, falcons, hawks, kites, vultures and owls will swoop and dive around you as you sit in a beautiful arena. Our skilled handlers will explain why the birds hunt and fly as they do, where they come from in the wild and how they are trained. We also provide falconry experience days for both adults and children, experiences days start from £30..
We had a fantastic day out today to celebrate a special birthday covid safe style in small family group. We found beautiful and well cared for birds, wonderful knowledgeable staff, great flying displays and the highlight was flying the Harris hawk hands on in the lovely parkland. Totally recommend the birds of prey centre for a great and good value day out.

This is the second time I have ridden with the Boltby Stables and they didn't fail to disappoint. Sheila, the owner, always does her best to accommodate all experience's of the riders and match up the horses accordingly. The route she picked included a lovely wooded hill top for our packed lunch with fantastic views all around. In fact, this summed up the scenery for all of our ride. I believe that the diversity of riding scenery is second to none with riding through woodland to moorland and through pretty villages etc.. It is certainly one of my summer highlights that I look forwaqrd to and will go again

St Mary’s Church Leake is a beautiful grade 1 listed church in the shelter of the North Yorkshire Moors. It is a place of calm next to the busy A19 as it connects York to Teesside. We warmly welcome our “second congregation” who break their journeys here. If you are passing, do call in to explore our long history or to take in the quiet of this special place. There are a lot more details on our website. This includes a description the history of this amazing building, directions of how to find us, and services and events that may interest you.

You’ve probably read the books written by James Alfred Wight or watched “All Creatures Great and Small” on TV. Now come and see where James Herriot, the world’s most famous vet, lived, worked and relaxed. See his home and surgery in Thirsk; travel back in time to what life was like when James was a vet in Yorkshire. See the car he drove, step into the TV set, try your hand at being a vet and even experience what it was like to hide in a World War 2 air raid shelter!
This has got to be one of my favourite place's I have visited. The house looked as though the family had just popped out and you was visiting. The write ups were interesting and explained what happened in each of the rooms and how they were used over the years. There was also a room where children and adults could take part in interactive tasks. I use a mobility scooter and it was all fully accessible with the exception of the air raid shelter and this is explained on entry, there photos you can see if you wish, you also get free entry for one carer. The staff were very helpful and happy and items in the gift shop reasonable priced. Would highly recommend

Interesting, this huge landmark can be seen for miles. Lovely walk up the side or walk along the ridge to view it from above and watch the gliders taking off and landing.
