The Railean Distillery is located in San Leon, Texas. Open to the public for tours, tastings, bar, and gift shop. Visitors can purchase bottles, cocktails and souvenirs.
I couldn't be happier with the tour and bar at Railean. Having been a resident of Houston for the last five years or so my only regret is not finding this place sooner. The owners are legit and truly know their stuff. The tour is...MoreThank you so much! Glad you enjoyed your visit to The Railean Distillery & Buccaneer Bar, hope to see you soon. Cheers!

My husband and I drove down the dike and back just to check it out. It looked like a nice place to fish, but there was trash everywhere. At the end of the dike, you can see the plants in Texas City, Galveston, the ferries, and lighthouse in Crystal Beach, which was pretty cool. There was also a nice park at the entrance, but we didn't have time to check it out.

Local History Museum featuring artifacts from the USS Westfield (including a real Civil War cannon), exhibits on the founding of Texas City and the 1947 Disaster, Children's Discovery Room and model train layouts.
This is a great regional museum that portrays Texas City's resilience to hurricanes, the large ammonium nitrate explosion of 1947 and the change of sea port status. This museum is educational and interesting. I applaud the people of Texas City for their tenacity and perseverance to overcome obstacles. This museum is a fitting tribute to them.
I had heard about the Texas City explosion, but only as a side mention in history. This museum helped me process the magnitude of this explosion and its affects on the city. Similar to what happened in West in 2013, but of greater magnitude as nearly 600 people were killed.
We are glad we stopped and learned more about this great city and wish them well as they grow into the future.
Note: The second floor has a large miniature railroad layout. There are many retired men who are busy working on their layouts and who will talk with you about their trains. This is worth a quick peek.

Galveston Bay fishing guide service for the gulf coast. Corporate packages available.
Will could not have been nicer. From start to finish (1/2 day trip) he was professional and fun. He made sure everyone was fishing as much as possible....her took us to about 6 different spots and we caught a dozen or so fish and 8 were keepers....he baited hooks, netted fish, and untangled lines from rocks and each other! He was so nice to the grandkids (5 & 6) and let them "drive" us home. He then cleaned all our fish...we ate like kings! Thank you, Will....an awesome day!

The best time to goto Bay Street Park is during the summer. There are concerts and they have the Fourth of July Fireworks at the park. The park is right before you get to the Texas City Dike. Good fun for fishing!

A pretty park that is very well-maintained. We were very interested in the steam train locomotive (Shay Locomotive O.P.& E. #112) and old caboose that have been preserved on-site as well as a smaller undocumented rail vehicle that is set up close by the impressive train. They all seem to have been dedicated in the mid '90s. A nice stop after we visited the Texas City Museum, they were very helpful in giving us the easy directions to find the locomotive.

Paid $45 for three kids and two adults to jump. Went on a Tuesday and they were not busy, so that was a plus. Husband jumped into the foam pit with the balance beams and hurt his leg. No sign posted stating that the pit is shallow — probably need to make visitors aware of that (see photo). Got a Diet Coke out of the vending. Drink was flat and only had three choices of drinks b/c the machine was almost empty. They were shampooing the carpet when we went, which seemed odd to do while they were open, making your socks soaking wet on the bottom (see photo). Glad we live out of town, because my family and I won’t be back to this place...
