Welcome to Lofoten Lights. We’d like to help you share in our passion for this incredible show wich nature offers us. We’ll help you explore the history and culture of this amazing archipelago. We want you feel the excitement of the lights , as their thousands of everchanging colours draw your gaze heavenwards. All year round, we offer services of highest quality. Our desire is to make our “travelling friends” find themselves completely at their ease with the strong arctic nature of Lofoten, independent of who they are, or what they are doing. We can try with only words, even if they’ll never be enough, to describe what our eyes see every day…but we want, above all, even if only for a day, that YOUR eyes photograph this amazing land…and whatever type of excursion you do, we are sure that you will remember it forever. Lofoten Lights & Nature is a small tour operator which, trough its long experience, wants to make your holidays in Lofoten unforgettable.

Lofoten Krigsminnemuseum
If you have any interest about World War II, I would definitely recommend coming here. Very interesting and unique to the area. Significance of the war effort and finding the enigma machine locally was crucial to the allies winning the war. Very interesting!

This route was suggested in Tourist office as an alternative to Fløya in a rainy day. We are experienced hikers, but I didn’t want to take a risk to take kids up if the weather will get worse. We walked from boats marina to the start of the trail next to fire station. The trail starts as a tractor way and continues through the steep forest after. There are 2 tops you can access walking the same ridge. The both are easy, but the higher one had 20-30 meters you need to hold a rope. Views from both are breathtaking. Good hiking shoes are always advised!

Magic Ice, in Svolvær – the capital of Lofoten, offers you the pleasure of browsing ice art and coastal culture while enjoying a variety of refreshments. Sculptures and installations made of ice, dramatically lit and presented together with sound, music and images, tell the story of nature, traditions and the life of the fisherman in this abundant island realm. Magic Ice has an atmosphere that has to be experienced from the inside! It is more than just an “ice bar”, it is a crystal clear reflection of a distinctive community built on the riches of the sea – in the heart of the landscape where it all came to be.
If you choose to visit here you must try the ice slide ! It’s great fun no matter what age you are. The rest of the ice sculptures are amazing particularly some of the panels that are mixed in amongst the free standing sculptures. It may not be the cheapest place to visit, but if you are on the Hurtigruten ship the entrance fee is discounted and you still get the free drink in an ice glass. My husband wasn’t keen on visiting it, in the first instance, but having been he considers it as probably the best thing we did on the trip. The staff are really friendly and happy to answer any questions you might have about the sculptures, special mention should go to Victor, who talked to us for ages.
