I just visited Vera and her winery again. This was my SECOND visit. I loved it so much two years ago, I came back to Serbia and needed to visit with Vera again. My amazing Serbian guide Ana Simic and her fantastic husband Alex took us and Vera welcomed us like family to her establishment. All of the wines were wonderful as expected as we were able to enjoy Vera's company. Many thanks Vera. To all - this is something in Serbia not to miss. It's an amazing country with incredible people, and time at Vera's says it all about the beautiful experience.

It's a beautiful town, beautiful sights, lovely restaurants, great food, lovely places for drinks, big big walks, etc. Everyone will enjoy! I would say that going on a big walk is not kids-friendly (toddlers and smaller children), there is traffic and not manybpedestrian roads.

Among architecturally and aestetically interesting and beautiful buildings of Sremski Karlovci, the Patriarchy Court is considered to be the most beautiful. It was built in the end of 19th century and was the religious and political center of the life of Serb Orthodox community in the Austria-Hungary. The palace itself is a monument of exceptional importance both for Serbia, as well as its region Vojvodina. Today it has more or less the same administrative/religious function, but is considered to be a museum per se. If you're in Sremski Karlovci, make sure not to miss this place!

It is impossible not to notice this beautiful building. Take a moment to look at the detail on the outside. I went inside and was greeted at the door by two teens sitting at a desk. Unfortunately, you can not tour the building, as it is an active school, without a pre-arranged guide. These teens were nice enough to let me take a few photos. Nicely, simply maintained grounds around the outside in the front.

Our friend recommend to visit this place. We were the only people visiting and the owner kindly took us around and explained about bee keeping that his great grandfather starter. He took us also to his wine cellar which was amazing and authentic experience. Then our little tour was followed by tasting 7 types of wines and 3 type of honey. We were treated very well. We also bought some honey jars for our friends back at home. Place is located in a small village which is very authentic and lovely place to wonder around

Built in 1799, this Baroque fountain marked the completion of the first town waterworks.
The historic fountain enhances the centre of this delightful village which has several important buildings near in the pedestrian zone. It is in excellent condition since restoration work has been done this century.

We were lucky enough to visit Podrum Bajilo (Bajilo Cellar) on a recent tour of the area. Our guide brought us here to taste "Bermet" - which, if you don't already know, is a dessert wine specific to the Sremski Karlovci area. WOW.. it was so delicious!! Podrum Bajilo is tucked away from the road in an adorable courtyard. Our host was friendly and very knowledgeable about his products and the history of wine making in the area. Many of the wineries in the area make Bermet... but I think Bajilo makes the best!
