Hugo Wines is a family owned and operated winery in the foothills above McLaren Vale. The Hugo Family and staff welcome visitors to there property to sample their estate grown wines while enjoying panoramic views of the vineyard where the wines are produced.
What a hidden Gem in the McLaren Flat area, Hugo Wines has a pleasant outlook and the staff were great the wines were just what I liked, The bubbly was good and the tasting platter was to die for. great value for the money will definitely come back again. We visited on the 22nd December 2019.

Mr. Riggs Wine Co. was founded in 2001 by Ben Riggs. Bens' passion for winemaking is evident in his wines and philosophy. "The aim of all Mr. Riggs wines is to express the essence of the vineyard and varieties, in style that I enjoy drinking."

Second visit to this winery. It has a beautiful location and because it was a gorgeous day we sat outside under cover and enjoyed the beautiful view while enjoying a generous shared cheese platter and delicious glass of bubbles. My first visit was on a windy day and the inside seating is just as good with the same view. The staff are helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend.

Quintessentially Australian and surrounded by towering century old gum trees and tranquil native gardens, the original property was established as a vineyard and named Woodstock in 1905. Scott Collett and Ben Glaetzer have both been responsible for winemaking at Woodstock since 1999; Scott in the vineyards, Ben in the cellars and jointly in the tasting room. The Woodstock Coterie Restaurant was opened in 1988; the first winery restaurant in the McLaren Vale region. In Spring 2020 it became The Coterie Wine Bar & Kitchen and offers a casual relaxed approach to winery dining. The Stocks Tasting Room cellar door is open for Tastings on Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 11 – 4pm, as is the wine bar. Kangaroo Feeding also takes place at 11:30 on these days only. Tickets $2.50-$5. Bookings required.
Yesterday I attended a special dégustation at Woodstock Wine, where they had partnered with some of best Asian restaurants Adelaide has to offer; Concubine's, Kosho and Bai Long. Everything was presented perfectly, the wine flowed and we were treated to a lively up beat and fun environment. Staff were visibly enjoying their day engaging with customers ensuring everyone was satisfied. There was nothing to fault on this experience, the wine was delicious with great consideration going into the pairings not to mention the fun of trying some back catalogue wines for a side by side comparison. I will be keeping my eyes out for another of these events and will look to set up a time to visit the Cellar Door properly and get a light lunch next time on a picnic blanket, the grounds are picturesque for a summers day.

Charlie (owners son and one of the wine makers) looked after us well, and gave a good run down on each wine, even detailing the history of some of the tastings. Savagnin and fiano are just a couple of the newer varieties to be found here, to accompany the traditional (for Kangarilla Road) Primitivo (Zinfandel) that they are known for. A most pleasant experience, and a revelation to find that Charlie made his first vintage while doing year 10 at school.
