Siuntio Canoe Center is located in Siuntio at Storsvikintie 140, just a 30-minute drive from Helsinki. Independent paddlers can rent canoes/kayaks/SUP boards from Siuntio Canoe Centre and either paddle up the Siuntio River or out into the archipelago. Siuntio River, the "Finnish Amazon", is a good and easy paddling route for beginners. Starting and finishing points for trips can be adjusted to your liking. A good destination for a kayaking trip out into the archipelago is Kopparnas and its beautiful islands. Here you can find cooking shelters and outside WCs, and also nice spots for setting up camp if needed. The distance from the Canoe Centre makes this perfect for a bracing day trip, whereas campers will experience the peace and silence of the nightly archipelago before waking up to a new enjoyable tour among islands and skerries. Rental prices include kayak/canoe/SUP, paddles, life vests, watertight bag, map, info on paddling techniques and VAT.

Sjundby slott is a beautiful medieval manor house just a few minute drive from Siuntio town centre! The estate is owned privatly so it's important to note that it's not okay to just go and wander to the front yard!! The owner of the manor hosts visitors on special tours during summer months though! The estate has also a small café just outside the manor next to the bridge where they sell for example their own artesan ice cream! There's also a small pond after tje rapid stream where one can go for a swim! There's cyrillic wriring on the walls of one building next to the manor which tells the story of Soviet Occupation during Porkkala Naval Base era.

The Medieval St. Peter`s Church is a true gem in the municipality of Siuntio just about 30mins away from Helsinki.
Visited St Peter's Church today with dates back to the late 1400's. The church is open most afternoons in the summer time. Inside you find that the ceilings and walls are covered with Medieval paintings depicting stories from the bible. Dragons and devils can be found as well as the types of clothes the people wore during the middle ages, as the paintings show the characters dressed in Medieval clothing. The Cemetery is also very attractive, very neatly kept with many different plants and flowers. All very nice indeed. As the day of our visit was the Siuntio Medieval Market day there was a guided tour around the church. The Market happens once a year and was very well done. Lots of events, small stalls set up selling all kinds of trinkets to do with the middle ages. People were dressed in period costumes, lots of things for children, pony riding, pets Corner and the chance to dress up as a Knight in armour. Lots of food stalls for the hungry in the taste of the middle ages and also suckling pig. Then there was jousting show with knights on horses, all very skillful, most entertaining. If you are around Siuntio in the summer time, be sure to check out when the middle ages market is on, they certainly put on a good show today.
