I visited here after staying in Siaulia overnight. If you don't have your own transport it's tricky to do this as a daytrip from either Riga or Vilnius. It's possible but it would be a very long day. There are regular buses from the main bus station that take about 40 minutes to small bus shelter, from there it's about 2km to the actual hill itself. I knew there would be a lot of crosses but really staggered by how many. I can't even imagine how many. It's a really striking, unique place and I'd highly recommend visiting if at all possible.Try visiting early in morning or in evening if possible as it was pretty busy when I visited.

One of the most beautiful church (cathedral) in our country. So much space, so white, clear and simple. This cathedral have to interesting elements: the clock of sun and defensive wall.

For full experience I recommend to visit museum exposition and take a workshop. Exposition is small, but high quality and interesting (especially for lithuanians because of know all candys from old times :D), guide - nice and funny! Workshop was also perfect - not so long. You will make & take with you box of tasty choclate. Worshop chief is also kind, professional and helpful. In the end you can visit shop and cafeteria (here you can take original chocolate drink, which isn't sweet, but spicy - helps after all that candys).

New museum exhibition, summer cafe in the outdoor roof terrace and city panoramic view with "camera obscura" is planned to be open in the middle of 2015.

The church is situated in the central part of the city, next to the railway station. The church was built in 1908 with money allotted by the authorities of Tsarist Russia. In the beginning, it served as a church of the Russian Army, but when the Russians retreated, the Germans turned it into a warehouse. Following the retreat of the German troops in June 1919 the church was renovated and ordered t

The extraordinary 750th anniversary of the city's existence in 1986 motivated the proper acknowledgment of the significance of this date. The competition for the reconstruction of the square was announced in 1981, and it was won by a trio of architects from Siauliai: A. Eerniauskas, R. Jurela and A. Vysniunas. The centrepiece of Sundial Square is the gilded and bronze-ornamented decorative sculpt
