The Winter palace built in 18 th century by Khan (king) of Sheki. Ticket cost 2 man inside you can take a lot of pictures with English speaking guide.
So much has already been said about this palace that it is unlikely people would still come to Sheki without visiting it. And a truly spectacular sight it is. The beauty of the interior wall and ceiling paintings is breathtaking. There is so much to take in that, given the prohibition to take pictures, I wished there was a nice illustrated book available about this and the Winter Palace. There must be one on print, but I couldn't find any on sale on site. If you can get hold of one, even better before your visit, don't miss the opportunity to arrive there prepared for the wonderful sight that awaits you. Sheki has a lot to offer, but if you are short of time, the Sheki Khan's Palace in itself is worth the trip.

You'll need a few hours to see all the grounds and all the active buildings. The tourist office is here with nice bathrooms.

Amazing place to visit - just when you think you can’t take another nutsy driver, cobblestone, or pothole - here’s this church, possibly the oldest in the world, in the center of a little town with a Thor Heyerdahl bust. Who knew. Had a marvelous tour with an English teacher - she made my day. Would recommend this after the so-so Sheki experience.

What this family is doing is truly remarkable and worth of support. They cultivate an unbelievable array of different fruits, organically as far as I have understood (I am no expert). Ilahe led us into their orchard, explained the different trees and kindly replied to all our questions. We even tried some of their citruses that were pretty much the only fruits ripe now. Even though we were totally off-season, we spent a delightful hour there. We will definitely go back "in season" for the fun of it and to purchase their fruit. They have animals as well, and I guess a visit will please children too.

It is a pity that many tourists leave Sheki without visiting the Khan's Winter Palace. It is not really far away from the Fortress. If you walk there, you must be patient because it is not very easy to find the correct way. Walking through dirty lanes I came past an old dilapidated mosque in a huge overgrown park. The tombstones in its cemetery were all leaning towards one side or the other. From the outside the Winter Palace looks more like a modern house than like a saray. When I was there it had been recently renovated. The wooden floors were all polished up, the frescos seemed all new. Most of all, the shebeke windows were glittering because in the afternoon the sun was on the right side and it was shining into the palace. Apart from a young man from Brazil who took a lot of photos, the palace was mine! The caretaking woman had disappeared in her room. Where would that happen in the Western World?! The little front garden of the palace was also worth a walk. On the whole, I am still fond of that visit and I liked the atmosphere here much more than in the Khan's Summer Palace.
