Patrick and his wife's "junk art," which enlivens the front yards of half the homes on downtown Florence Avenue, is the most unique and interesting attraction in "Peacetown." A fire truck, doggie, Superman, motorcycle and rider are just a few examples of the whimsical and well-constructed pieces on display along two blocks of mostly charming, small older homes. The Amiot's house is particularly noteworthy, where they sometimes give away calendars from past years that show a dozen of their works.
What a nice contrast to the cold, industrial, self-important Barlow complex on the east side of downtown.

Appointment only so don't make the drive there without having a reservation or you'll be disappointed... We went there the day after Christmas... Beautiful day to sit outside with a view of rolling hills of vineyards, a geyser from Geyserville in the distance, and a beautiful glass of cab to ship. They have the different flights to taste. That night for dinner we shared a bottle of their best cabernet. It was worth every expensive ship!

Located in the heart of Sonoma County's Russian River Valley, Lynmar Estate is a producer of premium quality and limited-quantity Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. Tasting by appointment only.
We visited this winery after a friend's recommendation and it was a great find! We made an early reservation and were one of only a few tables there. Get there early or plan to stay a few minutes late to enjoy the property and gardens. They also serve light snacks at the tables. You'll want to make a reservation in advance - we called on Friday to get in on Sunday without a problem. We had a personal 1:1 tasting experience and our guide even took us down to the vineyard to show us the various grapes. Great experience, we'll be back!

Nestled amid the vines at Coopersmith vineyard, tastings educate visitors about Merry's handcrafted Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc. Experience wines produced with a genuine sense of place using site-specific viticulture and gentle, traditional winemaking practices. Merry and her husband, Ken, invite you to join them at their estate winery. Please call to schedule a private tasting, however if you don't have time for an appointment we welcome you to come in from 9:30AM - 4:30PM for a more casual tasting. Parties of 8 or more, limos and buses are accepted by prior arrangement only. (Please note, our winery is patrolled by cats. No canines, please -- assistance dogs are exempt. Thank you for your understanding.)
Our visit to Merry Edwards was amazing. You should reserve a tasting in advance as they only do a full tasting with a reservation. You're taken to a small tasting room with no more than 6-8 people and they give are very generous with their tasting. Merry is known for her Pinot Noirs and we tasted 5 of them - all terrific. The real revelation, to me at least, was the quality of her whites. The Chardonnay and, especially, the Sauvignon Blanc were fantastic. Great staff, no charge, a really great choice if you're trying to sort through the many wineries in the area.

Dutton-Goldfield is a partnership between grapegrower Steve Dutton and winemaker Dan Goldfield. Our mission is to produce world class wines that display the brightness of fruit, complexity, structure and balance that are reflective of our cool climate vineyards. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the mainstays of our portfolio, along with small lots of Syrah, Zinfandel, Pinot Blanc and Gewurztraminer. Our tasting room is casual and comfortable, with outdoor seating on our patio in the summer, and in our cozy living room by the fireplace in the winter. We offer several tasting options, and are also happy to customize a special event for your group. We look forward to your visit!
We scheduled an appointment to visit the tasting room at Dutton Goldfield, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. David led us through our tasting, and did an amazing job explaining each of the wines and the subtle tasting notes.
After having experienced many tasting rooms in various wine producing regions, my wife and I really appreciate a relaxed experience where you are allowed to sample at your own pace and are given some space to enjoy the wine. David did a remarkable job of leaving us to do the tasting, yet checking on us at just the right intervals. We also appreciated how personable he was and really enjoyed conversing with him.
Of course, the wine was delicious and we ended up taking a few different bottles home. Overall, a great Sonoma experience that is not to be missed.

Full of soccer, softball fields, picnic area, dog park, peace garden, volleyball and tennis, childrens playground, all on the high ground. Lower down several miles of trails go through recovering wetlands. I nice place to be in nature or play an active sport. Good spot for all kinds of people.

The Sebastopol Center for the Arts was designated the Veterans Building until State Government designated it as a Center for the Arts and added all of the signage. The veterans still meet there in a small room.
The artwork is mostly local artists and you can visit it in under an hour.

A boutique, family owned winery in the heart of Russian River Valley / Green Valley, specializing in Estate Grown Pinot Noirs, cool climate Chardonnays, Sauvignon Blancs and cool climate Syrahs. Tasting room open daily from 10am to 4:30pm.
We have visited hundreds of wineries throughout the world, likely tasted thousands of wines, and are wine club members at one place...here! This family owned and operated facility produces some outstanding whites and some excellent reds which are all value priced. A visit is a relaxing experience hosted by a friendly, knowledge staff. Don't miss this special place.

Former industrial and agricultural cities could take a lesson from Sebastapol regarding re-purposing of old buildings. This is a series of apple processing structures that now house numerous restaurants, cafes, ice cream shop, organic grocery and small shops. It is worth strolling around to see how the space has been utilized. Another such refurbished place is right across the street.
Kudos to Sebastopol for figuring out how to turn an eyesore into a hip destination. And by the way, the town's Main Street is really cute and quaint, too.

We biked this trail a few days ago and had a delightful time. The trail is flat and scenic. My only regret is that once you get to Santa Rosa, there wasn't a place readily apparent to have a iced tea, etc.
