Seaham, formerly Seaham Harbour, is a small town in County Durham, situated 6 miles (9.7 km) south of Sunderland and 13 miles (21 km) east of Durham. It has a small parish church, St Mary the Virgin, with a late 7th century Anglo Saxon nave resembling the church at Escomb in many respects. St Mary the Virgin is one of the 20 oldest surviving churches in the UK. Seaham is currently twinned with the German town of Gerlingen.

This is a beautiful and moving sculpture in the centre of Seaham. At the moment the area around it is cordoned off due to Covid.

a unique watering hole encapsulating the mining and industrial history of Seaham. We pay homage to those who built this town. Come down and have a drink with Jackie the miner and experience what it was like to work at "the coalface".
Been here many a time and always get a great welcome, tasty pint and awesome time. Mark, Andy and Luke know how to run a boozer. From busker night to a crazy quiz (especially when Andy does it lol). Get involved people. Proper pub with proper clientele. Always dog friendly too. Top Notch

Visited with my husband whilst up North. Living in Essex we have not found a spa down South that comes anywhere close to Seaham Hall. I would also like to add that I think Rockliffe Hall could learn a lot from Seaham Hall spa too. The spa is beautifully appointed, clean and spacious. The girl who met us at reception had a beaming smile on her face and kept us informed from arrival to starting our spa experience. We arrived a tad early and this did not seem a problem whereas at other spas they make you wait until the exact time! Attention to detail is superb from snacks and water in the Zen room to getting lemon sorbet after a treatment. We have stayed in The Four Seasons in Bali and both commented how much Seaham Hall spa reminded us of this from the decor and ambience to the extremely high customer care and consideration. Well done seaham Hall.

This is a wonderful example of what can be done with local enthusiasm and dedication of the proud people of Seaham. The full story of the George Elmy lifeboat is shown on information boards, next to the fully restored lifeboat - well worth a visit. Yesterday it was outside and looking very grand in the sunlight.

Moving to see all the poppies and wooden crosses displaying the names of those loved and lost, the area is surrounded by benches depicting images of poppies, silhouettes of soldiers, with such a fabulous view of the coast.
