Harry's Boots plans to keep the tradition of extensive inventories, quality merchandise, and competitive prices with authentic personal service to the customers, just as founders Ike and Harry Shapiro did. New and expanded inventories of boots, hats, and clothing for the whole family are available at the restored landmark or home of Harry’s Boots. – Jordan Family

James, the proprietor, explained origins and processes that create some of the highest quality products we've ever run across....did you know that the longer balsamic vinegar is aged, the thicker it gets due to evaporation?....the showroom is lovely and there are way too many flavor of both the vinegar and olive oil options to sample them all on one trip....this is an unexpected delight to stumble across in the "Pecan Capital of the World"....if you're in San Saba, it's a 'must go'....

Welcome to 'small-town Texas re-energized! We restored and re-purposed an historic 1926 building where our Tasting Room is located. We also built a 10,000 case production facility next door to create a significant visual part of the San Saba historic streetscape. Our patio provides relaxation and a place to renew friendships. Our tasting menu only offers 100% Texas-grown wine from our estate vineyards or from vineyards that we manage or contract with.
We loved our short visit to San Saba and were so happy to have stumbled into the Wedding Oak Winery. The owner was there and he served our wine tastings. He's a great guy - knowledgeable, friendly, interesting. We tasted the red wine flight of wines and LOVED every single one of them. We highly recommend a visit to Wedding Oak Winery!

I enjoyed walking through this park. It has interesting information, and is very well-kept. One drawback was the bathroom - one door was locked and the other one was very hard to open/close, and the lock did not work, so we had to stand outside and "guard". I understand this is a pretty new park, so that was disappointing. But the park itself is very nice.

Everyone who watches Texas Country Reporter (as we regularly do) will enjoy walking across the bridge used for the show's opening. We approved from the north of San Saba and had to drive a few miles on a caliche road in order to reach the bridge, but the road was not bad at all (we were expecting lots of loose gravel, but that was not the case). Because of structural issues, the bridge has been closed to traffic but it is open for walking (we were there in mid-December). If you are near Gatesville or San Saba, it is worth the drive to experience this 1939 suspension bridge, one of the last of its kind in Texas.

Located just a stone's throw from the county courthouse on the town square, this is a very nice park. We were there in December when it was set up for the Christmas lights. What a beautiful place. It is easy to imagine the community gathering here in the summer to cool off in the pond, which has a nice little beach. The water mill and pump house, the water fall, the walking path and grounds all come together to created a wonderful public space. Loved it!

Our tasting server was a local young lady who was very friendly and extremely helpful with helping us select wines. Not only that but she gave us directions to all the sites we wanted to visit in the area. They hold special events and will be glad to put you on the mailing list to keep you informed. We really enjoyed the quality wines at a fair price. no where near as pricey or as snobbish as the other winery down the street!

Ended up with 2 sacks of goodies that included chocolate pecan fudge, butter pecan fudge, 4 wonderful cook books, 2 San Saba River Pecan Company coffee mugs a regular pecan pie and a chocolate pecan pie. The young lady (Shanda)that edited on us was very helpful and accommodating.
