This is a really great beach for playing in sand and swimming. The water is fairly calm and warm so it makes for good swimming. There are also some rocks that provide good exploring. The beach area was really damaged a couple years ago by a hurricane, but it has been restored and made even better with amenities added. This beach is popular with local families.

This place is definitely worth the drive out to see it. There are several different Beaches for snorkelling and diving. You can do both guided and independent tours - although the Beaches are not well marked so stop in at the information centre when you arrive to get specific kilometre location information.

“The Frank Arnold Gallery is located at the northern most point of the district with what Fodors’ Travel Intelligence describes as, “arguably the best gallery space in town”. The Historic Art District of San Jose del Cabo has grown to become the second largest of its kind in Mexico. This centuries old Mission town has been transformed into the jewel of Los Cabos, with galleries and restaurants reviving vintage homes and storefronts. The annual art season from November through June continues to attract international attention with weekly “art walk” Thursday nights.”

This Mission was founded in 1728 and is located on the main plaza. It has some interesting ornamentation on its roof. Its cut-stone design is also a unique feature. Although pretty Spartan inside, it exudes a warm welcoming feeling. The beautiful gold leaf painted altar frame with a central statue of San Ignacio contains seven paintings of saints surrounding him. The cactus garden next to the church with native Baja species is worth a walk through. So is a visit the INAH office located in the old wine cellar of the church. If you want to visit the rock paintings in the Mountains surrounding San Ignacio, that is where you will get your permit.

We spent the day wandering around the art district of San Juan del Cabo. Our absolute favorite gallery was this one. The beautiful combination of color, imagery and technology left us inspired by Ivan's creations.
The beautiful Christian themes in many of the pieces were very touching to us. Of course, we had to take a small painting home.
Don't miss this gallery.

Beautiful beach, but primarily for surfers. There is a Surfing school here to where you can sign up for lessons. You can rent chairs and an umbrella here to for a reasonable price. However, this is not really a beach for swimming. Parking is limited.

Located near Km 11 on the Transpeninsular/Main Highway (aka the Tourist Corridor), this horseshoe-shaped beach was my favorite in Cabo. There’s plenty of parking with clean restrooms and showers. A boardwalk leads from the parking area to the beach (just enough of a walk that you won’t want to forget anything in the car). The beach itself evokes the Wow Factor! Flanked by natural rock formations, the water was clear and ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Try to beat the snorkel cruises that arrive by mid-day. We didn’t find them a nuisance although they dropped a lot of snorkelers into the water. How sad that new construction is continuing on this previously undeveloped beach. Really was it necessary to build this close to a protected bay and marine sanctuary? Santa Maria Beach is a must-do when you’re in Cabo.

A large group of us went to the Wednesday cooking class at Flora Farms. My hubby and I had previously taken a class here and knew our friends would find this to be a lot of fun. The farm itself is worth a visit - a real oasis in the desert. It is phenomenal to see what grows here and it was impressive to see how this establishment has grown over the past few years.
Our class included preparation of chicken tamales (best we've ever eaten!), a tomatillo salsa, a hibiscus cream sauce for the tamales, guacamole and Caesar salad dressing. We also were treated to their signature Farmarita and a tour of their grounds, bakery, etc.
The class was fun and the instruction was clear. Everyone gets to participate and you get a copy of all the recipes. Best of all, you get to eat the results of your labors for lunch. We loved seeing and learning their techniques. Can't wait to try the recipes at home. Second experience was even more fun than our first visit.
