If you are looking to satisfy your appetite for a wild adventure, Rolling Hills Zoo can provide two unique experiences you won’t soon forget. Settled among the Smoky Hills of central Kansas, this 65-acre zoological park, home to more than 110 species of animals, includes a world-class wildlife museum, all for one single admission price. At the zoo you can get face-to-face with a rare white camel, an Indian rhino or a curious orangutan. Maybe it is a towering giraffe you would like to encounter, a majestic lion, an ornery aardvark or any one of the many other species of wildlife at home at Rolling Hills Zoo. Throughout this beautifully landscaped park great care has been taken to provide the zoo’s animals with special and naturalistic environments. As visitors stroll through the zoo, they are invited to visit with the zookeepers. This dedicated crew is a huge reason why visiting Rolling Hills Zoo is such a unique experience. They are specially trained to enhance the quality of life for the animals, which in turn helps the animals thrive and be extra responsive to zoo visitors. The Rolling Hills Zoo zookeepers know the animals well and are happy to relate their own insights about their distinct personalities. During their visit, guests can enjoy a narrated tram ride through the zoo which stops at key locations in the park so guests can get off and explore on their own. Your journey through the 64,000 square foot museum takes you around the world while experiencing the delicate symmetry between humans, animals and nature in unique regions from the artic to the rainforest. With one of the world’s premier collections of full mount animals, this wildlife museum proudly displays over 200 animal species in naturalistic dioramas covering seven ecosystems. Live waterfalls, diorama sound effects and state-of-the art animatic human robots bring each diorama to life. The museum also features the Helen L. Graves Hideaway Hollow children’s education and exploration center and the 2,000 square foot Earl Bane Gallery, an exhibit gallery for exciting interactive traveling exhibits. Rolling Hills Zoo hosts a number of unique special events throughout the year including Zoorific EGGstravaganza, Party for the Planet, Wild About Moms, the Father’s Day Care Show, Wet’n Wild, the Back To School Blast, Zoo Brew, Art Gone Wild and Pumpkin PaZoola.

It's a great little zoo. Perfect for killing a few hours. They have a great selection on animals. Only a few animals weren't out when we went. I love that they have a picnic area and a place for the kids to play

We recently attended an event at this Theater. It is beautifully decorated. The seats on the main level are sloped slightly upward. We had a tall couple sitting in front of us which made it hard to see the entertainers. There is also balcony seating which is where the bathrooms are located (which we found a bit unusual). The acoustics are pretty good.

Most local history museums tend to be somewhat boring, but I was pleasantly surprised with this one. They do a really good job of using artifacts to tell some of Salina's history. Plus, I really enjoyed the walk-in old settler's cabin. They have rotating special exhibits, and they were in the process of renovating their kids' area when we were there. We'll definitly return!

SculptureTour Salina

Our downtown corridor is the home of this outdoor exhibit of sculptures on loan from across the country. Pick up a brochure/ballot in downtown businesses or Santa Fe crosswalks, and vote for your favorite! Voting open to all ages!

Reviewed By Allenflusa - Salina, Kansas

Yes, Salina is known for an arts city, and has a number of great opportunities, but the sculpture tour is a great way to introduce people to a variety of art, at no cost to the public, and typically, several pieces are purchased each year by community businesses and organizations and put on permanent display. Having the public vote for a favorite is another low-key way to get the public involved in art.

Webster Conference Center

Webster Conference Center has been designed with people like you in mind, and we invite you to come and enjoy a day, a weekend, or an entire week with your family, church, or civic organization. Facilities include sleeping rooms, meeting rooms, dining areas, recreational facilities, and large areas of open space where you can just get away from it all.

Reviewed By n0uzn - Topeka, Kansas

Webster hosted our conference for a second year and helped to make it a success. The staff was attentive to our needs and the meeting room / chapel easily held the 100 people attending and could have easily seated 40 more. There is an audio / video system in place. Lunch was good and the price for the room, lunch, and the morning and afternoon snacks and beverages was reasonable. The center is easily accessible from I-70 Highway. I recommend Webster highly if you want to host a meeting or conference.

Wow! We spent about 2 hours walking around the 3 levels of rooms filled with everything from antique kitchen gadgets, vintage wedding gowns, decades old furniture and knick knacks of all sorts. The merchandise in each room is supplied by a different vendor so prices do vary but generally most things are very reasonably priced. The couple that run the store are very friendly and helpful. They have been running this store for almost 25 years. The building itself is worth a look as it was a bank for over a hundred years and all the original safe doors are still there. Worth a stop as you never know what surprising find you'll come across!

This review pertains to the Salina Art Cinema, also in downtown Salina and close to the Art Center. It's nice to have a second choice in town for movies - especially some that may not make it for showing through the "regular" cinema theatre complex in town. It's a smaller, very nice venue!

This is a nice place to bowl. Its very affordable and the workers are nice. We bowled here one day and we are from out of town. They gave us a complimentary game of bowling for next time so we made a point to come back and play more games. On Tuesdays you can bowl for a dollar but we missed this promotion as were weren't in town that long. The tv graphics for the bowling alley are a bit dated but if you like bowling it's a very good place to go.
