Soft white sand, the ocean looks and smells lovely, and there are areas where you can drive you car to the spot of your choice instead of having to lug all your gear from a public parking lot a quarter mile away.

This museum is a gem! I really had no idea of the impact and the hard fought battles this area had on the civil rights movement. The staff have much knowledge about the history of the area and willing to share their expertise. Be sure to walk the neighborhood and view the churches and places where so much history took place. No tour of history is complete in this area without it.

This market is on Wednesday mornings at the pier. We like going to it to see what local artsy items we can buy. We love supporting local artists plus there is some really beautiful, handmade stuff, nice looking produce & food!

Butler Beach is a favorite. Typically locals frequent this beach. It is less crowded. You can drive on the beach if you have 4x4 or park and walk over the wooden bridge that protects the dunes. If you're lucky you might see some turles sunning on the dunes from the walkover. There are no bathroom or showers at this location, but it is a great spot.
