Copper Shade Tree, a fine art destination located in the heart of Round Top, Texas, displays a delightful collection of decorative and functional crafts, hand crafted by Texas artisans, as well as painting by renowned artists. In addition, six events are scheduled throughout the year, to showcase a wide range of fine craft mediums. The artwork consists of a wide range of mediums and disciplines from across the state. Two-thirds of the artists are from within a 150 mile radius of Round Top. I absolutely loved this charming store! It was full of goodies that all of us ladies dreamed of having when we were little girls that we can now have as adults. It is a fun store to explore inside and outside. Great place!

A lighthearted artist, musician and family man, John Lowery draws inspiration from the natural beauty surrounding his land in Burton, Texas. John invites you to experience his vision of the Texas country landscape. View original paintings, prints, and merchandise online or visit The Humble Donkey Gallery at historic Henkel Square in Round Top, Texas - right next door to Royer's Pie Haven.
This is a small store tucked into a corner of Round Top village. Here you will find etchings and prints, caps, décor pillows, and other gifts and odds and ends.
The lady who runs the place is extremely personable and really makes you feel at home. She might even offer you some cider or a glass of wine to make your visit even more enjoyable.
This is a nice, well-stocked and interesting store that I think you will like.

This past Saturday (July 18, 2015) we saw two plays: Pericles and 12th Night. We loved both performances, and particularly loved the enthusiasm of the performers. The performers are students at the University of Texas, and this is an academic course during the summer where students study an dperform Shakespeare's plays. The director, Professor James Lochlin, has great credentials: MA from Oxford and PhD from Stanford, and has taught at Dartmouth and studied at Dartmouth with Peter Saccio, a Shakespeare scholar. Professor Lochlin also, as a student, partcipated in the Winedale Shakespeare class. The performance barn is in the country, a few miles from Round Top; while it is an old German hay barn, it was rebuilt to include a great stage and a balcony for the audience as well. While it is open air, there are lots of fans with cool air pumped in. There are lots of tables outside which people use to eat or drink a bottle of wine. The performers mingle with the crowd after the performance. This is a great venue and well worth the drive time to get there.
