We teach blacksmithing classes during the weekends. Saturdays are basic forging techniques, a spike, a ring, a knife. Sundays we forge bearded viking axes or tomahawks. Book in!
On Sunday the 7th of January 2018, my partner treated me to a blacksmithing course at Fantastic Factory. I had never done anything like it before, but it is so incredibly addictive! Enrique is a most enigmatic and enthusiastic teacher, he makes the hard work seem like childs play! Oh, and he speaks fluent Catalan and English! Well worth the fee, well worth the time, I cannot wait to go back for a second course!

It was on my list of objectives this year, Catalan monasteries and medieval towns, for a reason. It was closed, the proverbial "siestas", but I waited and was the first to get in at 4:00 when they opened. Ripolll doesn't have much else to offer at this caliber. It is central, next door to the city hall. It is very clean and well preserved, hard to believe this is a 8th century structure. I loved the cloister, very beautiful and clean, impeccable. Other places are ruin, this one here is very well maintained. In the ticket is included the museum access, next door through the Info office. Plain and boring comparing to the monastery. Again, Ripoll the town doesn’t have much to offer but this place here justifies every kilometer of the 100 from Girona.

The Ethnographic Museum of Ripoll has its origins in the Folkloric Archive and Museum of Ripoll. It was the first ethnographic museum in Catalonia and along 70 years it uninterruptedly collected, studied, conserved and taught about the heritage of our region. In March 2011, after 10 years of readaptation and maintenance, the museum opened its gates to carry on preserving and expanding its collection and to show a heritage, that includes the collections about shepherds, farmers, jobs, religiosity and the production of forged iron and hand fire weapons in the Ripollès region. The Museum offers an interesting journey, enjoyable for both children and adults that allows the discovery of a recent past, a different way of living and feeling and the symbols of identity of a territory.

The Iron and Coal Route, in reference to the important ironworking tradition of the Baix Ripollès region and the mining of coal at Ogassa, follows the route that was once plied by the train. The 12 km of railway have been transformed into an ideal trail for enjoying a long walk or bicycle ride, and for reminding us of the industrial past that is an important part of our heritage. The section of railway going from Sant Joan de les Abadesses to Toralles remained in use until the mines closed down in 1967.Picnic area Sant Joan de les Abadesses All-Terrain Cycling Centre

My name is Joan and I present to you my virtual Escape Room, "El Segrest Emmetzinat". This idea was born as a result of these uncertain days of confinement, thinking of entertainment for everyone, and also the result of my own concern. PartyDiem is a small and emerging project that seeks to reinvent itself and find a way to survive.
