Sixteen-sided church built in 1813.
We saw the church from the interstate while we were driving to Waterbury from Burlington. We wanted to stop on the way back and go inside and look around, but we were running late from our activities in the Waterbury and Stowe areas. It looks...MoreThe Church is open during the summer from 10 until 4. Hopefully you will have time to stop next time. It is a National Historic Landmark and well worth a visit.

Come float with us on a whimsical journey above the world below. One of our experienced and FAA licensed pilots will whisk you into the skies above Vermont, where you can take in all of the beauty that the Green Mountains have to offer. After about an hour you'll touch down and conclude the flight with a toast of champagne or sparkling cider, Cabot cheddar cheese, and Vermont fudge. Flights depart at sunrise and sunset daily, weather depending.
This was a bucket list adventure for me, and Jeff our pilot made our flight very special and entertaining. Safety was a huge priority. In spite of difficult wind conditions that gave us an extra long flight due to challenges with getting to a good landing location, we felt well taken care of at all times. And the post flight champagne, cheese and crackers were a lovely touch.

My husband and I stumbled across this museum on one of the local area "attractions" maps. What a pleasant surprise! There are literally hundreds of intricately hand-carved wooden birds there. The downstairs part of the museum is set up with diaoramas depicting the birds' natural habitats. The upstairs part of the museum has a workshop where the carvings were made, overhead life-size birds in flight, and more than a hundred glass-enclosed cases showing male and female birds with nests and eggs. Outside was a bird feeding station, with lots of activity. This station has a web-cam that can be checked whenever you'd like from any internet connection. The staff was pleasant and knowledgeable; the facilities are clean and handicap accessible. There was also a gift shop stocked with items of interest to all ages. (Don't be put off by the country roads you have to travel to get there -- it's well worth the drive.)

Escape rooms are a new form of interactive brain teasing based entertainment rapidly gaining popularity around the world. Trapped in a themed room, your team must work together to find clues, crack codes and solve mind puzzles to complete your mission before your time runs out.
We were a group of 4, aged 18 to 50. We did the Pirate one & Taken. Very challenging but great fun. Very highly recommend. Excellent staff. Needed the clues, and did escape both times, with mere seconds to spare. I would recommend at least 4 but no more then 8 people. Telling all my friends to go here. LOVED IT!!!! Most fun I've had in a long time.

I visited on a Sunday when the visitors' center was closed, including bathroom facilities on site. The scenic drive into the area was part of the pleasure. Near the visitors' center, there are informative plackards about the bird habitats and the plantlife. If you're looking to hike the trails, note that the area is hilly and some trails can be steep. The Green Mountain Audubon was a refreshing rural excursion after a day in urban Burlington.

Third time here. Always for business. The rooms are charming and clean. Hotel is Ideal for the business traveler working nearby because there are two restaurants, good internet and quiet rooms. The two restaurants do not overlap but complement each other; one with light tavern affair and the other with fine culinary cuisine. Enjoy the local brews at the tavern. The hotel has many amenities though I was unable to utilize them.

I walk here with friends and our dogs every day and it's a fabulous resource. Fields, including off-leash fields for dogs, hiking trails, gorgeous mountain views, a pavilion and a river. What more do you want?

We stopped here on the way up to Stowe and it quickly became a favorite! We had lunch and a tasters. My favorites were Barbe Rouge, Stainless Forest, and It's Complicated Being a Wizard. We got lots of go and had to stop again on the way back down to refill! We even bought a piece of art!
Staff was very nice and it was a pleasant experience! Can't wait to go back!

This Friday we dropped in for some music, brews, and light fare. None was disappointing. The casual folk acoustic music was most enjoyable. The buffalo chicken sandwich special w potato salad was a generous portion along w sweet potato wedges w an awesome mustard sauce. As for beer, there's something for everyone. Nice country setting.
