My name is Erla, Im the owner of Fjallhalla Adventurers, which I founded in 2014, decided to do the extra drivers licence in 2015 and finally claim the hiking guide licence the spring of 2017. Why the name Fjallhalla Adventurers? Fjallhalla means in Icelandic: fjall=mountain, halla= women's name and elevation. Halla and Fjalla-Eyvindur were outlaws, famous characters in Icelandic history that survived living in nature, those characters were definitely an inspiration when finding a proper name for the company. We wanted it to be different, more authentic. Adventurers, cause well, we enjoy the trips and being in Icelandic nature just as much as you do. We love our jobs. Do what you love, and love what you do right?
Hekla hike Excellent hike, including the perfect weather. Booking with Fjallhalla Adventures is an assurance of a great and safe time in the mountains. I have done other hikes with the company and they always know when it’s the best time to go, which talks about the experience that they have. Also Erla the owner is super nice and she always makes sure you not only have a great time in the adventures but also doing some extra activities in the area, like local food, historical landmarks or concerts. Visiting HorseFarm open all year around, come in visit take a photo, Rent a Horse, Horsebackriding Tours, HorseShow, SaleHorses Welcome in visit
We had a really fun time visiting the Sturlureykir Horsefarm during a 2-day tour of West Iceland via Arctic Adventures. The owner of the farm is very passionate about Icelandic Horses, and you learn a lot about these majestic creatures and get up close and personal with them, a “selfie” with them is a treat, such gentle horses. Coffee/hot cocoa afterwards with some fantastic homemade (in a geothermal oven) rye bread. Oh... and did I mention we were serenaded by Tarzan the rottweiler? Visit him now before he gets really big and decides to embark on a music career.

Me and my brother had an amazing time with Josefina! She was super spontaneous and friendly (I contacted her last minute via Facebook) and we rode for about 2 hours along the river. The horses were so lovely - I would have loved to take mine home ???? Along the trip we tölted multiple time (special pace of icelandic horses) and crossed the river which was fun and an experience! All in all the experience felt very authentic and familiar since Josefina is so friendly and the horses are so nice. Highly recommended both for beginners and a little more experienced riders! Thank you so much Josefina for the amazing time - it was definitely a highlight on my vacation :)

In Fridheimar farm we create a pleasant Food Experience where lunch is enjoyed among the tomato plants. We also offer a Greenhouse visit where guests are informed how Icelanders are able to grow vegetables the whole year around with help from the nature. A Horse show is available where the history and gates of the Icelandic horse is introduced in a light and professional way in a nice environment. After the show our guests are welcome to the stable where they can meet the horses, take pictures and talk to the riders. This is a perfect entertainment for all age groups and specially people that are curios about family farm life in Iceland. Greenhouse visit and horse show need to be booked in advance
Email ahead of time to reserve your table for lunch! Still an excellent place to visit in the winter, was able to pet the Icelandic horses, easy to get to, good parking, excellent communication via email, delicious food

Ashestar offer 1 – 1 ½ hour long riding tours in beautiful nature along the river Hvita. For guests that are not up for a riding tour but want to get to know the Icelandic horse we offer 20 minutes of riding with someone from our staff leading the horse. Suitable for both inexperienced as well as experienced riders and so a visit to Ashestar is an excellent entertainment for everyone.

Experience nature from its core by bathing in the geothermal baths at Krauma. The hot water originates in Europe’s most powerful hot spring Deildartunguhver, at a temperature of 100°C (212°F). To achieve the perfect bathing temperature we mix the hot water with cold water from OK. Krauma offers five relaxing natural geothermal baths, a cold tub to get your blood circulation going, two calming saunas and a relaxation room where you can rest by the fireplace while listening to soothing music.
After you visit Barnafoss a must have to stop here! Very relaxing, chilling place. The fireplace is so amazing! The smell, the cracking, it was snowing outside! Just ferry tale! There is 2 steam saunas, 1 cold bath and 4 or 5 warm water baths. The view on greenhouses ???? And try a home made icecream! We were very pleased. 100% we will come back!

We found ourselves with some free time, so decided that we would visit this spring - and I'm so glad we did! The water truly is boiling out of the ground - absolutely beautiful and amazing! The water from here is used back in Borgarnes and elsewhere for heating - there's THAT much volume! It's just fascinating. Since we were here around lunchtime, we decided to eat in the restaurant at the adjoining spa - it was delicious!
We grow berries and the "goddies" in our greenhouses, and attached garden. Which we sell in our small farmers market shop. Also we focus on products from other local farmers.
