Smith Rock State Park is beautiful and has activities for all ages and skill levels. It’s well-known for its rock climbing and you’ll see lots of folks with ropes heading for the rocks. There’s a diversity of hikes, including the moderately difficult Misery Trail or the nicer stroll along the river along another well-maintained trail. I did the Misery Trail that connected with the river trail, about 5 mile loop.

It was during our leisurely walk during our visit at Eagle Crest in Oregon that my husband and I found this Jewel of a gallery. The Gallery of Alfred Dolezal. We totally enjoyed his amazing work as well as the reflections that went with each art. Treat yourself and stop by the gallery and enjoy his collection. Bella and Tommy

What a beautiful park!! Although we don't have any handicapped children we were absolutely thrilled to see a park that had plenty of play options for everyone. My daughter was especially excited - "mom now everyone can play!" The designers of this park should be congratulated and there is still plenty of green space for ball throwing, etc.

I've lived in Redmond for 6 years and although I've driven by the caves often I just recently stopped to check them out. There are quite a few caves. Most of them are pretty wide open but fairly short. As you might expect with a cave, most of them have rocky openings but nothing too strenuous.
This is a good quick activity. It took about an hour to pretty thoroughly explore the whole area.

Scenic mountain lined with fir and pine trees: great for hiking and skiing.
I always enjoy this hike. It's about 1.5 miles one way and all up to the summit. It takes you through the lower shady forest and on until you summit with fabulous views of both Mt Bachelor and the Three sisters. I find it to be an invigorating hike, not an easy one. It took me 2:45 round trip, but I'm 64 and my knees aren't great, so I go slower on the downhill than most people.

Rundown, weedy, falling apart but you can still tell that it is a wonderous creation. Apparently its run by the grandchildren but it appears that they have never actually learned to weed. They seemed to just hang around the house and stare.
But its a treasure. Ignore the kids, and the house in desparate need of repair. Stop and see this incredible work of art before it crumbles away from neglect.

When my husband and I walked into Beyond the Ranch we were fascinated. We have been to literally hundreds of antique malls, stores and stands. This one is excellent. It has great variety...western, military, jewelry, paintings, bicycles, furniture and so much more. Even if you are not interested in antiques this store will have something of interest for you. I would highly encourage all to stop.

Great selection - some items are overpriced but if you take your time there are some good finds. Most of the vendors will negotiate so b
