I visited Francisco Brennand's studio as part of a shore excursion from Recife. Francisco Brennand is a contemporary sculpture artist in Brazil. His studio is set in an old roofing ceramic tile factory that belonged to his father Ricardo. This studio is quite large with several buildings of this works.
A lot of his works are abstract beings involve the female bottom and phallic symbols. I've attached pictures so you can make your own judgements. We were only allowed to take pictures in the outside areas of the compound.

Very modern place at Marco Zero. Worth a visit. Not all explanations are in English, but even so a great experience. Details about Luiz Gonzaga and how he and his music promoted the culture of the Northeast

Good place for a shopping day in Recife. People from other countries with a favourable exchange rate will find good deals in local (and top quality) brands. The major "maisons" have stores there but due to brasilian heavy import taxing may not have good prices. Excellent restaurants are a major atractions. The best cinemas in town are located there, its easy to find english spoken movies with original sound subtitled in portuguese so english speakers will have what to watch. Watch out heavy traffic jams on exit from 5pm to 7pm. A must go place to shop in Recife.

Santa Isabel Theater is a very beautiful and classical Theater. One of the most important of Brasil. It's a monument Theater. It's located in Recife, PE, Brail, at Republica park, Santo Antonio, near to Govern Palace (other magnificent place to visit). There are many atractions surrounding it too. Santa Isabel Theater is elegant, classical and modern. Their atractions take place, often, at night. Go there !

Dating from the 16th century, San Francisco Convent has a living community of Franciscans, and is probably the highlight of Olinda. Its baroque carvings, its paintings and murals, the blue Portuguese tiles and decorations are impressive – if a little tired. The church and sacristy have richly carved woodwork, and note above your head, all the way to the ceiling.
There is a small charge, and the tour guide is most enthusiastic. Well worth a visit.

Paço do Frevo is a cultural resource center that gathers actions, projects and activities to enhance, protect, promote and convey frevo, a leading national tradition, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Paço do Frevo is a public space for the diffusion, research, leisure, formation and support of frevo's music and dance, with the goal of spreading its practice through the future generations. It's a place to contemplate, study, create and experiment. We have built a popular and democratic environment where people can meet, learn, and discover the energy and vitality of frevo, an artistic expression that aggregates both the collective momentum and personal transgression. In this renovated building that combines preservation and modernization, you will find a whirlwind of images and emotions. A state of mind. A rich, complex and dynamic system of artistic expressions, traditions and crafts related to the Pernambuco and Brazilian popular celebrations.
The frevo is kind a samba of Recife and that museum is a good place to know about its history. When we went there, no band playing at 3rd floor.

This beach is one of the point you have to go if you stay for a week in Recife. It is a small isle where you reach by small boats (or motor canoe). That care because water currents are strong.

If you want to learn more about Brazil's history you must to go all churches as possible. Brazil is the largest catholic country in the world and its history is deeply intertwined with their religion. Recife has the most interesting and beautiful churches in Brazil. Old churches in Brazil can be considered as museums. The "Dourada" here means Golden as many parts of the churches were covered with real gold. A way to say that God deserved the best of the best. Showing power and rich status. Which actually goes against the roots of the religion as God preached be poor, humble and help the poor. Worth a 100% to see!
