The 10 Best Things to do in Quinze-Vingts, Ile-de-France

August 27, 2021 Tynisha Seiler

Lingering over pain au chocolat in a sidewalk café, relaxing after a day of strolling along the Seine and marveling at icons like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe… the perfect Paris experience combines leisure and liveliness with enough time to savor both an exquisite meal and exhibits at the Louvre. Awaken your spirit at Notre Dame, bargain hunt at the Marché aux Puces de Montreuil or for goodies at the Marché Biologique Raspail, then cap it all off with a risqué show at the Moulin Rouge.

Foodies flock to Marché d'Aligre, a lively and authentic outdoor Parisian market housed in the city’s authentic-feeling 12th arrondisement, or district, and located near the Bastille. Here you’ll find everything from fresh cheeses, spices and flowers to vintage apparel.

We enjoyed seeing the beautiful flowers and produce, but even more, we loved the flea market! We spent 2 hours here on a Tuesday morning looking at clothes, housewares, jewelry, etc. We dickered with the vendors and came home with some terrific bargains: a leather trench coat, a haute-couture runway dress, a huge silk scarf, a large tin tart pan, a silver ring...These are our favorite souvenirs from Paris, and they are so much nicer and more unique than the made-in-China souvenirs on every street corner!

Coulee Verte Rene-Dumont

Reviewed By KatielouAustralia - Hobart, Australia

This disused railway line in the 12th arrondissement has been turned into a 4.5 km long tree-lined path meandering through buildings and providing a green oasis. It is difficult to find the start at the Jardin Charles Peguy end as this is at street level and there are some dingy tunnels to make your way through. We caught the Metro and got off at Porte Doree and wandered along several streets till we asked a local to pint us in the right direction. Once on the pathway, you can walk at your own pace and it ends at the Viaduc des Arts (opposite the Gare de Lyon train station). Well worth an afternoon visit

On the right side of the street almoust entire lenght of it there is a pasarela under its arches are art studious. There are fashion studious, restauration studious: musical instruments, furniture, studious for production of objects of ceramics and leather... I present one of multiple that i have entered. Studio of Junior Fritz Jacquet “Paper Art & Design“. The interesting thing is that on the top of pasarela is a Botanical Garden. It is worth seeing. I recommend it.

Viaduc des Arts

These arches over the avenue Daumesnil tower over a block of interesting shops.

Reviewed By JnVSydney - Greater Sydney, Australia

Viaduct of the Arts has two parts, (in our way of thinking). 1st, an elevated park on the top of an old railway viaduct. The park was inaugurated in 1993 and until New York’s High Line park opened in 2009, it was the only elevated park in the world.(awesome walking, see review, Coulee Verte Rene-Dumont). 2nd, The bottom of the viaduct, under the massive arches, is now home to artisans and crafts people of all descriptions for use as studios or ‘ateliers’ - everything from lamp makers to violin and piano makers. It was nice walking along, taking in the artiness of it all.
