The Antiquarium Arborense, founded in 1938, is the most important museum in the province of Oristano, dedicated to the famous scholar Giuseppe Pau: it shows a large number of archaeological discoveries which date back to different ages (Neolithic, Nuragic, Punic and Roman period), coming from the city of Tharros and the Sinis Peninsula. The Museum houses an important picture gallery, with the surviving panels of three retables (painted multi-panel altarpieces): the retable of Saint Martin, the retable of the Holy Christ and the retable of the Councillors of Oristano. On the first floor, the museum hosts a miniature model of Tharros and a miniature model of Oristano. The Antiquarium Arborense is the only museum in Sardinia with a section for blind and visually impaired people. Guided tours in the Museum and in the historical centre of the city of Oristano are available in English, French and Spanish language (booking is required).

Gorgeous town, spent a few hours getting lost down the pretty streets with their beautiful doors and flowers all over. The main cobbled street is lovely, great places to eat and drink then amazing windy small streets up to the castle that’s at the top with great views all over. Be sure to cross over the bridge out of the main town to get the great views of the multi colour houses going up the bank After seeing it all head to Porto ferro beach about 30 mins north to cool over it’s a lovely sandy beach with good waves

For your visite you must make a reservation for advance. We are a family: free guided tours all year round, by appointment only. The visit lasts 30 minutes. In a remote place of the world, called Su Pallosu (Oristano), in the west coast of Sardinia (Italy) live a huge colony of cats. The colony is formed by 45 cats (30 completely free) and is rapidly become an amazing attraction for tourists from everywhere because of the interest of this rare event, which has led the national media attention there. The feline sanctuary of Su Pallosu in Sardinia hosts a total of 45 cats, all endowed with microchip. All female and all male cats are neutered. The colony is about a hundred years old, is managed by two cats-lovers Andrea e Irina and Associazione Culturale Amici di Su Pallosu; never received any public funding: all feeding and medical expenses are funded by volunteers. Therefore people living in the near village are voluntarily organized to support and protect the felines. All the secrets

Leaving the pedestrian streets on your way down from piazza Roma, you’ll arrive at the cathedral and the Piazza Duomo. The cathedral is a large, baroque monument which rests on a well maintained square. The neighbouring church buildings and convent are testament to Oristano’s rich architectural past.
