One of the oldest horse-racing clubs in the world. The Champ de Mars saw the first race on the 25th June 1812. While you enjoy the show, our fully dedicated Crown Lodge team will do everything possible to make your wish come true. Sit back and enjoy the variety of drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and local snacks offered throughout the day. Transfer from and back to your hotel or place of residence. Access to our private VIP box, access to a private teller, all Inclusive.
One of the absolute highlights of our honeymoon in Mauritius was a Sunday afternoon spent at The Crown Lodge. Jerome and his team hosted the day superbly - the drinks were kept flowing and plenty of tasty canapes were served throughout. More importantly there was a great atmosphere among all the guests and a perfect view of the finishing post. From a UK couple who have been to race courses all over the country, this is NOT one to be missed! Thanks to everyone for an awesome day out!

We climbed Le pouce from Le Dauguet, it’s longer that staring from petit verger. It’s a constant climb from sea level up to 712 meters. At the summit you can magnificent views of Port Louis and the central region, Better use a guide if you choose this route. The descent was way except you have to be very careful if it rains as the pathway can be very slippery.

We visited the Kaylasson Temple, or Sockalingum Meenatchee Ammen Kovil as it’s otherwise known, whilst on a day trip to Port Louis during our honeymoon in October 2019. The Hindu temple is located on the outskirts of Port Louis and is dedicated to the god "Shiva". The temple itself is absolutely stunning and the pictures I took don't do it justice. The colours are so bold and striking it literally takes your breath away. Make sure your camera is charged when you visit as you will definitely use it. I would advise sensible clothing when visiting the temple as it is a place of worship, and remember to take off your shoes before you go inside the temple. There is no charge for visiting the temple and there is a large car park onsite. I would recommend spending a good hour to fully appreciate this magnificent building. If you like peacocks, you can see them at the rear of the temple. If you are visiting Port Louis, then this is something you definitely should not miss. Highly recommended – 10/10.

This modern waterfront shopping and entertainment complex in Port Louis features a wide array of shops, restaurants, 4- and 5- Start hotels, a casino, movie theatres, a history museum, a craft market and a marina and it hosts regular live street entertainment.
If you are in Mauritius and miss some shopping there you are this place was my shopping mall, was my shopping oasis... (I work in the mall and I miss people shops and shopping)... pricey oasis...the place is across the street from local market where you find all most the same items like there but normal to cheap price, if you dare... The waterfront is clean, fancy, and cosmopolitan compare with local market.I liked the idea with the umbrella hanging, casino, bars, and restaurants, finally some clean nice restaurants.

Founded by The Mauritius Commercial Bank and erected at the Caudan Waterfront in Port Louis, this state-of-the-art Museum is one of the jewels of Mauritius cultural establishments. Resolutely modern and dynamic in its conception, it houses an exquisite heritage collection that speaks of Mauritius and the region. Transcending time and space, from the first explorer to set foot on the island, all through its successive settlers from Europe, Africa and Asia, an exciting adventure awaits you. Interwoven with reality are the numerous legends which make us all dream. If deep down, you want to taste the soul of Mauritius, to feel its heart beating with memories of the past, to learn all about what makes it so endearing, then the Blue Penny Museum is a must.

Our first stop of the day tour was at Aapravasi Ghat. I had no idea of this part of indentured servitude, especially in such a more recent part of history, 1834-1920. Our guide was excellent. We could almost feel the presence of those souls from China, India and South East Asia while they waited to be transshipped to other parts of the world. When we visited the grounds were open every day but Sunday
