A trail in the Olympic National Forest.
We headed across the water on a ferry from Whidbey Island to Port Townsend to explore Olympic National Park to go up to Hurricane Ridge but the road to the ridge was closed due to weather. So we headed along the coast to Port Crescent where in the poring rain we took a walk to Marymere falls. The walk was beautiful, through the woods we stayed dry thanks to the wonderful canopy of the trees. Enjoy the walk, it was amazing.

The visitor center in Port Angeles is in temporary quarters, a couple of modular buildings in front of the more substantial visitor center. While this space provides all the necessary information about Olympic National Park, it is small and lacks the displays and other information that would be found in permanent facility. The staff were very friendly and happy to answer any questions we had.

This popular coastal area was converted from an old military fort after World War II.
A beautiful chunk of Washington coast. Old WWII gun emplacements and bunkers. Rugged coastline with views of the Straits and shipping traffic. They have some partial hook up sites and basic sites as well. well maintained as all Clallam Bay Parks seem to be. They value us tourist up there!

We took the Black Ball Ferry Line and the MS Coho for the first time from Victoria to Port Angeles. It is such a nice trip on a vintage boat. It was a friendly and comfortable 90 min trip We did not make reservations for our March trip since it only runs four times a day. If you park your car in time, you still have some time to explore the beautiful city of Victoria. The ship was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the ship seemed a bit tattered, a number of the seats were broken and roped off! You will go through the American immigration/customs on departure from Canada, so everything is already done when you board. The crossing itself was very nice. If you’ve parked your car in line way ahead of time - consider that an opportunity to walk around the town –there are so many interesting shops & sights & cozy restaurants conveniently near the ferry on both sides of the border! Just be back to your vehicle about an hour before sailing. Be sure to check which travel documents you need to enter both countries, since you’ll go through Canadian immigration/customs upon entry to Canada; and will go through U.S. inspections on departure from Canada. We plan on doing it again.

We found these falls by accident and what a great accident it was. The falls are just beautiful - simple but beautiful. The only complaint are the number of tourists getting in the way of taking pictures.

We discovered Harbinger on a visit to Port Angeles last March, and made sure to come back for a repeat visit this trip. The wines are good, the staff is friendly, and it's a place to spend a couple of hours (or more). Today we were here in the late afternoon, and the place filled up with locals there for a glass of wine on their way home from work. Sort of a winery happy hour.

Trust funded City owned facility and acreage devoted to the exhibition of and education about fine art.
Interesting place. In addition to the main gallery building, walk in the woods where there are art displays. The first sculptures were installed in Webster's Woods in 2000 and every year new pieces are presented through the Center's Art Outside program Unique and cool.

Washington Lavender is a Sequim Valley lavender farm found on ten acres of oceanfront farmland overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca between Sequim, and Port Angeles, Washington. Home of fine "Martha's Own" lavender products and the George Washington Inn, a replica if George Washington's home.
My sister and I have wanted to visit this location for awhile now and finally did so about a month ago. While the best time to go is June or July it was still really special in January. The owners are so nice and were so willing to come out and let us take a look through the shop! I will definitely be coming back when the Lavender is at its peak!
