One of those breweries in which you start with a simple flight of 4 samples. The next thing you know you have been there for hours. I enjoyed sours, Belgian strong, Berliner Weiss, and a smoked Porter. Sampled a bunch more. The venue was large open space. At least 20 of there beers were available. They also have a wine list if someone in your group does not like beer. A must stop in the growing craft beer world

Sample-McDougald House

I remember when this house was located on Dixie Highway and used as a homeless encampment. I drove past it every day and it was so sad to see it in it's decrepit state. Since then the house has been moved to it's new location and lovingly restored. It's picture perfect now. I visited recently when they were hosting their sixth annual classic car show. Our family has a 1915 Model T that was displayed. The house was built in 1916 making our car one year older than the house! A five dollar admission got you into the show and a home tour making for a fun afternoon. They had a food truck and DJ in addition to all of the cars on display. I always love to pay a visit to the house. On the ground floor there is a living room, dining room and kitchen complete with butlers pantry. The second floor houses a room they use for changing exhibits (on this occasion there was clothing worn by the Seminole nation), a child's room, and a bedroom with a wedding dress. The wood used in the house has been completely restored and it smells so good, like a natural pine air freshener. There are two gazebos on the grounds and the house makes a lovely back drop for the weddings held there. Also every October the Women's Rotary Club of Pompano hosts a haunted house. My daughter volunteered this year doing make up for them and it's always a popular event. There aren't too many historical gems in Pompano so this house is a real treasure. It's definitely worth a visit, even more so when they hold an event.

We had a wonderful relaxing day with Captain Cris and first mate Marc. We started at the lighthouse. Along the way we were given history of the area and interesting facts. We were on the intercoastal waterway for about four delightful hours. We liked this tour better than the Fort Lauderdale taxi tour.

We are adjoining the country's largest indoor flea market, The Festival Flea Market. Plan to spend the day and have lunch in the Festival's food court. We hope to see you soon!

We are always stopping at antique Mall‘s on our travels. This is one of the few antique malls that actually have antiques and collectibles. So many are disappointing now with garage sale merchandise and just plain junk. The Hillsboro Antique Mall never disappoints. We always manage to find something to take home. There is lots of very fine jewelry, silver, records, 50s stuff, comic books, etc. The prices are very fair and some of the dealers will bargain. They have lots of staff to help you and open cases. Most of the dealers are not in their booth’s but there’s plenty of staff to help. They are located at one end of the very large festival flea market.

Pompano Municipal Pier

A wide and long pier just recently completed after it was destroyed in a hurricane. It was free the night we went so I am not sure if there is ever a charge. Ample space to fish with pole holders and a cleaning station. Once you are at the end in the ocean, you have a great view of the beach and the various buildings on the beach.

From Boca Raton, FL (this is the busiest station for Tri-Rail) when we travel, rather than the hassle of driving to the airports, parking, etc....or taking expensive taxis, we found that TRI-RAIL works just fine for less than $6. to either PBI, FLL or MIA. Tri-Rail ends at the MIA airport, so no shuttle needed. To PBI or FLL there is always a shuttle bus waiting to whisk you off to the airport as soon as the train arrives. Plenty of room for your luggage (we always take the last car)... try it, you will like it.
