Flathead Lake

Reviewed By SgtMom2 - Fayetteville, United States

This was one of the prettiest places I have ever visited. The water is cold and amazingly clear. The views all around are gorgeous. There is a paved highway all around the lake with many places to stop and sightsee. We had a great afternoon flying a kite at a lakeside park.

Finley Point State park

Reviewed By CATTSAR - Provincetown, United States

This time of year the park is closed to vehicular traffic but there is parking directly across the road and it is easy to walk in. The park itself is located about 4 miles (6.8 km) off of MT 35. The road, No./So. Finley Point Rd, meanders a bit but is easy to follow. The park is located on the southeast corner of Flathead Lake with stunning views of the lake, and the Mission Mountains to the west. This time of year with the lower water level of the lake I could walk out a bit on the rocks and ice. The park has both camper and tent campsites making it that much more desirable for longer stays. In addition to the camping, the park offers a full array of activities including canoeing, sailing, swimming, picnicking, fishing and boating with plenty of dock space. The beach is ideal for sunning and relaxing or just taking in the view. All this nestled in a 28 acre strip on the lake. A truly great outing!!

Almost drove by without stopping. What a mistake that would have been. We only had about an hour but could have stayed much longer. It was a museum unlike we had ever seen because of the variety and uniqueness. The largest collection of “stuff” we have ever seen. From motorcycles to trapper huts to a train! Was lucky enough to meet the owner on our way out to hear about how it was all collected. Fun!

Kerr Dam

Reviewed By kimmiek386 - Great Falls, United States

**Not as scenic as Niagara but the dam itself is bigger than Niagara** It’s massive and magnificent to see and imagine how it was built in the 1930s during the Depression. The hike down is steep, but easily walked for all ages. There is a sign warning visitors that bears & mountain lions MAY be seen but unlikely. Worth a visit if dams aren’t something you see regularly in your own neighborhood. Although it’s called Kerr dam you may see signs referring to it as something with a Native name - I didn’t quite catch that part. Depending on when u visit you may or may not see the dams open. Montana has a bit of a dry/fire season July/August.

Three Dog Down

Reviewed By TravelingCrones - Polson, United States

This company and its owner, Bob Ricketts, represents the finest in customer service. I located a very old customer store credit receipt, years old. Bob approved it for my new purchase. I always send visitors to see the remarkable inventory of neat stuff that Bob has. Sometimes, they get to hear his operatic voice in fine tune!
