World-class Zinfandels from one of America's oldest wine producing regions, Amador County. Determined pioneers creating wines that are distinguished and delicious -- rich, bold, and balanced wines.
We had visited the top rated winery for the region prior to visiting Renwood. There is no comparison, Brenda is the most delightful, informative and charming tasting consultant we have encountered. The grounds are lovely as well as the tasting room having it's own charm. Not only are the wines 5 star, they are approachable and affordable. Not only people friendly, they're pooch friendly too! Don't miss this on your trip to Amador County!

Having lived in Sonoma County for mannnny years before relocating to Nevada County, CA (another primo wine region), I've enthusiastically visited Oodles of tasting rooms, including elsewhere in CA when traveling. The winning combination I experienced yesterday at Drytown Cellars of Lovely wines plus truly friendly and relaxed hospitatlity made this a first-rate experience -- and we also lucked out re: so many other fun folks tasting alongside us too.
Their pours are generous and there isn't even a tasting fee -- but please DON'T take advantage of them. It just was an unusual combination to experience, and I did end up buying half a case of various wines. They poured their splendid Barbera, but then were out of it when I wanted to buy some : ( but was Very happy to take home a collection of other premium quality reds, including some first-rate port -- yummmmmm. They have a lot of lovely whites too, but I'm a red fan, and if you are too, Don't Miss their FAB table wine blend called Red-on-Red....it's depth of complex and well-balanced flavors left me further astonished by its bargain price, a Real find!!
Will Definitely return and can't recommend this tasting room highly enough...their generosity also extended to providing barrel samples. We enjoyed a truly memorable afternoon in their company...

We are 100% off-grid winery specializing in Rhone Varietal wines and blends.
Although right on the main road,we almost missed Wine Tree Farm and that would have been a loss. Corinne, the proprietor, was very knowledgeable and entertaining, and we loved the style wines she made. We were impressed that it was run entirely off grid, and...MoreThanks so much for this review! I am glad you liked the wine and look forward to seeing you at a blending class!

Hand Selected Vineyards, Award Winning Wines Jeff travels throughout California to find just the right grapes for his vineyard designated wines. The winery produces 22 different red varietals from 9 appellations. We produce balanced wines that can be enjoyed in their youth, but will also age and become more complex with time. Our wines share a theme of fresh fruit reflective of the varietal flavors inherent in the grape.
As wine tasting rooms go Jeff Runquist is a nice one to visit. The staff is warm and welcoming. You won't feel or be treated as one of the herds as can be the experience in some of the more famous wine AVAs. The tasting room itself is large but feels somewhat impersonal. However, the wine attendants do make up for it. We enjoyed the Cooper Barbera and would recommend enjoying that Italian varietal along with a few others they pour.
Cheers!!!!

Dick Cooper is the real deal. Just spend 5 minutes with him and you'll understand. This wonderful family run operation is a fantastic stop. The people are friendly. The wine is fantastic. The experience is worth repeating....and if you have the opportunity, stop and talk to Dick Cooper. You'll understand why the Shenandoah Valley is the best kept secret in Northern California.

We have been wine club members here for many years. They specialize in Sangiovese but also do Zinfandel and Barbera. On our most recent visit were served by the friendly and knowledgeable owners. Fabulous wine at a fair price.

So, here's the deal. They do not allow pets. . .why? Probably because too many pet owners have been inconsiderate in the past and have allowed them to pee or poop on the farm's meticulously maintained property. It's fairly expansive, so I can't imagine what...MoreThank you RMGirl1 for the thoughtful review! We do love knowing folks enjoy the grounds and find some serenity here :-) Deer, drought, and daylilies are our focus, glad you've been able to find some plants that work for you!

This was our first stop on our first visit to Ardmore County wineries & they didn't disappoint. The guy pouring the wine was friendly & knowledgable. The wines were smooth & tasty. We walked out with several bottles after having a really nice time tasting the wines.

Historical winery, farm museum on site.
Our party of seven cousins thoroughly enjoyed a day at this lovely winery. The staff is welcoming and answers any question about the museum and grounds. They offer a wonderful selection of Zinfandel "Rocky Top" which we all agreed was very, very good.
There is a nice little gift shop with cookbooks and everything related to wine. The picnic grounds are welcoming, peaceful and very well maintained. Suggest you visit, have lunch and enjoy a bottle of your favorite Zinfandel!
