This was a worthwhile stop as we learned a lot more about Pebble Beach Golf Links in a very well designed visitor center. Entrance was monitored to ensure that we were all wearing masks and used hand sanitizers before we entered. Our greeter cheerfully gave a quick overview of the center. The displays about the evolution of Pebble Beach and the amateur and US Opens, golfing legends, trophies and Clint Eastwood were well thought out, informative and worth spending time reading and learning. A short video played on the central wall and also a good watch. After we finished here we walked over to see the gift shop where they sold the typical higher end souvenirs and some drinks and snacks. Bathrooms were located here and were very clean and social distancing enforced by physical closed urinals and sinks. A small patio overlooking the 17 mile drive held tables and chairs and were full of visitors eating or drinking. Well worth the visit.

Drove to this area to enjoy the quintessential Monterey Peninsula stop. An icon and must-see of this area. COVID has reduced the crowds, so a stop was timely and enjoyable.

Birds love this area. One of the best places to see them is at Bird Rock Vista Point on 17 mile drive in Carmel. Although the parking area was closed (due to covid), we still liked seeing them as we drove to lunch at Roy's.

We were driving on 17 mile drive to lunch at Roy's. As part of this trip we enjoyed a return look at Fanshell Overview. We love the amazing views of the Pacific Ocean. There is also a nice fan shell shape beach area

Stop number 6 gave us the opportunity to get out of the car and scramble over a bunch of rocks. This stop was noted as a small Chinese fishing village back in the 1800s. No remnants remain just blackened rocks likely due to the cooking fires. As we got closer to the edge of the rocks by the ocean we peered into some of the tide pools hoping to see some sea life. However they were surprisingly barren for some reason. We did find a couple of rocks comfortable enough to sit down and watch the waves come rolling in for a little while. Being low tide and calm, the action was relatively benign that morning. As we made our way back to the car, we noticed a ton of mussel shells littering the beach so something found this place to be a good source of food and the feasting has been ongoing for quite awhile. Worth a stop for its accessible rocky setting.

I know that by now you will start skipping stations as it all looks alike and similar. Not this one. You need to park and step out of the car. Expect to spend more than 30 minutes here, and the more kids you have, the more time you need. Take lots of pictures, if you are lucky you will have enough fog to give you the scene of the lone tree with the mountains peaking behind the fog. See my picture attached. One of the most beautiful places I have visited.

Although we did not on this trip, often we see seals at Cypress Point Lookout. This is a scenic Pacific Ocean view of Cypress trees and the ocean allong the famous 17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach.
