Thus is an awesome park with great hiking options. Some trails have beautiful views of the San Juan Islands others take you through old growth forests next to streams, lakes and waterfalls. Really beautiful. Plenty of deer on the island in including an unusual pure white buck we saw on the Little Summit hike.

On a guided kayak tour we'll watch for bald eagles, harbor seals, river otters, sea birds, and an amazing variety of tidal sea life as we ply the waters of the San Juans. We use double kayaks, fiberglass, with all equipment provided.

It had been several years since we'd been to Buck Bay Farm, and boy, had it grown! No longer a single room and counter, there are now essentially three rooms/barns to serve you: a restaurant/bar area, a barn where you can select your own clams, oysters, etc, and the original shed with the shellfish market portion. Staff are doing a terrific job of keeping things clean and trying to ensure social distancing, quite a feat when you consider the crowds they're serving. If you stop, be sure to try their halibut ceviche (so amazing, we had to return a second day to have it), fish & chips (salmon--hubby said it was amazing), or pick up fresh shellfish for dinner. The crab we picked up--though certainly a bit tedious to clean--was well worth the effort! We'll certainly return on our next trip.

Come learn about the natural and human history at the summit of Mt. Constitution. We are staffed by volunteers and all donations support Moran State Park. Come see our live newt exhibits or our kokanee tank. Learn about the television broadcast history by KVOS. Great hands on activities for kids and adults 11 am to 4 pm rain or shine.

A treasured Orcas Island destination for visitors and locals alike, the Artworks offers one of the finest selections of local art and crafts in the San Juan Islands. We represent over 45 Orcas Island artists and craftspeople. Established in 1981, our co-op shares its historic building, a renovated strawberry packing plant, with the Catkin Cafe, an all-scratch kitchen offering a menu that changes with the seasons and featuring island-grown produce and house made pastries. Located two miles past Moran State Park in the hamlet of Olga, the Artworks is a short walk from the boat-accessible Olga public dock.
Tooling around the island we pulled in at Orcas Island Artworks, grateful to find something open on a Wednesday in November. Wow, what a nice selection of works from local artists--painting, photography, jewelry, textiles, outdoor sculpture ... I recommend you take the trip down to Olga and stop in at Artworks.
