We stopped here on a road trip that took us through Nebraska, and I wasn't sure what to expect. The gallery is also a museum, and there is TONS to see. It's free to enter, and sometimes the artists might stop in while you're there! There are huge varieties of petrified wood, various species in various forms, plus art made from the petrified wood and sandstone. There is also a whole section of arrow heads and other ancient tools, I've never seen a collection so big! Aside from the arrowheads and petrified wood, there are also displays with fossils and precious stones! More than a few of the finds in the gallery are local as well! The ladies working the gallery are all volunteers and very kind and passionate about their little town. Definitely worth a stop.

Nicest lake in Nebraska. Plenty of space for all activities and soft sand. You can camp out use an rv right next to the water.

On my second trip to IA thru NE the sales barn was not open and I went to Front Street. It was typically Nebraska friendly, good portions and priced right. A shade dark inside so reading the paper if you are alone can be a challange, but it is well worth while. It is on the North side of first street going East out of town in a series of old buildings from days of yore.

I loved visiting this historic site. The view was beautiful and the information provided was exceptional. I just wish there were not modern homes built so close (silly I know). Still a great place to visit and read about the history.

We enjoy Lake McConaughy and this afternoon visit was no exception! The weather was a treat and traffic was low as it was midweek and early in the summer.
