If you visit Oetstal area don't miss this beautiful lake! Easy access- Few minutes from the road, parking for 4 euros (coins only!), 5 minutes walk and there you are facing the beautiful lake. Highly recommended to walk around it. There's also a restaurant and a small beach.
If you go from the right side you can reach the restaurant even with a baby stroller.
We had a beautiful calming nature morning there...

Tirol Rafting offers the best in wildwater rafting trips, canyoning, guided hiking, caving, high rope course and via ferrata in the Ötztal Region in Tirol in Austria. Our 4000 square meter Base is located next to the river Ötztaler Ache in Sautens in Tirol, Austria. Please visit our Homepage for a complete overview of all our activities and feel free to send us an inquiry. You will not regret it !
First time whitewater rafting, so we went down the easier river. I didn't realise how much work was involved, but I had so much fun!
They provide you with the wetsuit, jacket, shoes, helmet and life jacket. Then you go through a few things with the guide and then the walk (carrying the raft) down to the river.
The river is absolutely amazingly clean and freezing! No matter what time of the year you go, the water is cold!! The views are spectacular and the guide was entertaining. You not only paddle down, but you also do balancing exercises down the river and get to test the freezing waters. They gave us an opportunity to jump out of the raft and float down the river, whilst holding onto the raft of course. Even though the water is icy cold, its something you have to experience!
Would go rafting again with these guys!

AREA 47 - The Ultimate Outdoor PlaygroundNature and high-tech combined to an extraordinary recreational experience for everyone. Whether outdoor adventure, event arena, water action or a stage for business incentives – the location at the 47th Latitude between HAIMING, Sautens and ROPPEN leaves nothing to be desired.
We arrived on the last Saturday in July at 12, the park was packed with a long queue. All activities were booked out.We decided to return the following Tuesday which the staff said was quieter and it was.
That meant 5 minute waits for the blobbing and practically no waiting for anything else. Our kids did the flying fox (300m zipline) and the climbing course under the bridge. They loved it.
The park has 3-27m (Yes 27 meters) diving boards and great slides. The water cannon shoots you 10m into the lake. There is minimal supervision on the high slides and boards so be careful with adventurous children. The water was 22 degrees which was fine. You can get and use wetsuits.
We used the on site restaurant which was fine for lunch. Great place for a day out but is looks like camping level + if you want to stay.
Book ahead for the activities.

The stuibenfall is a beautiful waterfall with masses of water gushing over the rocks and down a very long fall. But the waterfall is only part of the attraction. At the top, bottom and down the entire length of the fall is a series of viewing platforms and steel staircases that take you from the top to the bottom or vice versa. An amazing feat of engineering! This free attraction is well worth a visit.

The staff at Wiggi is very nice and can speak English well. Our tour guide let us know all the risks and how to control the boat before going on the water which was nice. I brought my GoPro camera but I didn't have a waterproof housing but I was able to rent one from the shop next to the rafting place. This was a fantastic experience I would recommend this to anyone of any age group-there were kids on our boat. You get to see the alps and the gorgeous scenery as well!

We took the Acherkogelbahn up to the Hochoetz one day and hiked in a loop from the Hochoetz to Wetterkreuzkogel then onto Knappenhaus, Zwoelferkoepfl and back to the Hochoetz. The hiking trails here are excellent. Less strenuous walks are possible in this area too - many families with quite young children were hiking on some of the trails that we took. The only drawback might be that it is a very popular place and the hiking trails are busier than in many other places in Austria.

We did canyoning, via ferrata and white water rafting through this friendly, English-speaking company. Varying levels of each activity can be done at various sites through the Otztal valley.
We've done canyoning before, but the Auerklamm Gorge is superb - there's a great 11m slide/jump at the end.
Highly recommend the via ferrata too - we climbed a rockface next to a beautiful waterfall (reasonably easy - though you need a head for heights - and once you know what to do and understand the risks you can hire equipment from lots of outdoor stores in the valley).
The rafting was disappointing. The trip is on the Imst, which was claimed to be a Grade 2 river. When we did it at the end of July, with the snow-melt over, it was pretty flat. Great for first-timers and younger children, but if you've been rafting before - as we have - you'll be bored. The Otztaler Ache looked more more lively (Grade 4-5), but my teenage children were too young.
The river level isn't in Natur Pur's control, of course, but they did squeeze 10 people into our raft - far too crowded, and it just compounded the disappointment in the trip.
If you've got the Otztal card you get 10% discount here.

The staff are very knowledgable and very kind to the animals. The information given was only in German but we could understand most of it.

This rafting excursion was the best I have had. Our guide, David, was professional and also fun to talk to because he was so knowledgeable about the river and the community. Our trip on the Inn river was certainly a wet bumpy ride, but felt safe and too extreme for our kids (age 11 & 13). The equipment was top-notch and the facilities were clean and efficient. We will be back next year!
