Don't miss a stop at this museum when you are in the area. Exhibits include the formation and geology of the Bay & a nice collection of fossils. They have artifacts, photos and exhibits from the heyday of Chesapeake Beach as a vacation venue earlier in the 20th century, with pictures of the amusement park, roller coaster and salt water pools. Upstairs they have exhibits about the War of 1812, Scouting at Camp Roosevelt, and a "cottage exhibit" with vintage furnishings. It provides a great overview and provides perspective on the rich local history of this area. They also have a museum shop and bookstore.

North Beach is my favorite go to place to relax, walk the boardwalk, peek at the antiques, or dart into the art shop, gift store, grab an ice cream cone or take pictures of the ducks, summer flowers, or gold fish in the art sculpture water garden. The morning hours are the best, when there are just the local dog walkers and joggers on the board walk. Yesterday the sunny fall weather was absolutely beautiful. There were a few individuals not wearing masks, but it is easy to maneuver off the boardwalk to the street and back onto the board walk. It is a very small beach, but pre-COVID, during the summer - the beach is packed with families. No matter what the season, there is an activity for all. Fishing on the pier, summer farmers market, and the beautiful Christmas Tree off the main board walk. There is a fee for non residents to access the beach and fish on the pier. But there is no fee to enter North Beach, sit on the board walk, relax and breathe the fresh air while enjoying beautiful views of the Chesapeake Bay for a few hours of the day!
