Love this boardwalk ! Easy access to a well maintained 2 mile boardwalk, surveyed parking, clean toilets, lovely bbq area with many tables, numerous swimming holes along the trail or the possibility to walk up to the trail and float back down...

The focus is on Air Force armament through a variety of historical displays, from a B-17 World War II bomber to an F-4 Phantom II jet.
We arrived 30 minutes before opening which gave us time to see all of the outdoor displays. There is no fee for entry to this museum. They do have a donation box at the entrance. A small gift shop has a lot of choices for souvenirs. The museum has much to see and learn. Great stop for families of all ages.

This is a great little museum to tour, with a lovely new butterfly garden out back. You can even have a picnic out there after visiting the museum. Once a month from January through June they offer homeschool classes which my daughter loves. They learn about Florida history, do arts and crafts, etc. They also offer Saturday classes and specialty classes like pine needle basketry though we have yet to attend one of those. Inexpensive and interesting.

Named for the Air Force Colonal who was instrumental in its creation, this 357-acre park offers many recreational opportunities and diverse plant communities.
We were so impressed when we spent the day at Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou S.P. & Aquatic Preserve. Awesome picnic area-so many tables with great views of the bayou.
We biked and hiked (3 nice trails) and wished we had our kayaks with us. It was very quiet there and the rangers were super nice and professional. Highly recommend this for a relaxing day with the family!

For the art collector looking for a distinct style, it's worth the visit to spend time in front of Julia Vanover's line drawings, paintings and sculpture. For the person needing to buy a gift that can't be found anywhere else, there are many small sculptures, jewelry, and miniatures to choose from. Plus, amazingly unique lighting fixtures, hand sculpted by Julia. Julia Vanover has been creating art over 30 years; her intention is for us to use her art to connect with others through kindness and simplicity. All pieces are made with museum quality products. Prices range from $5 to $5,000.
There are lots of "crafting" classes out there but this one beats them all. The gallery owner and artist Julia Vanover does a fantastic job as an instructor. With just the right amount of demonstration and guidance we were all able to sculpt and glaze...MoreOur "Sip and Sculpt" was a blast for me too. Will schedule another soon...just have to get a few projects completed. Thanks for your review, loved having you!

Small place, hidden a bit out of the way behind the One 20 Bistro on Partin Drive in Niceville. Inside tables as well as outdoor picnic tables with heaters available for cooler evenings. Live music offered occasionally on weekend nights. No food is served here, only drinks, but take-out orders can be brought from the Bistro in front. Very low key, but inviting and friendly place.

The Arts Center is a very modern and attractive performing arts venue at Northwest Florida State College. Modern stage with all sorts of special features for plays, etc. Orchestra pit. Used for symphony performances, broadway musicals, college theater productions. Pretty impressive for a small town.

Lions Park is located at 940-958 Bayshore Drive, Niceville, FL . . . not Choctaw Beach.
It is a very pleasant place to have a family picnic, enjoy the beautiful view across Bogey Bayou or wade along the beach. Well maintained by the city, restroom facilities are available.

Eglin is a very good golf course near Destin, Fl. There are 36 holes. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a large driving range nd practice putting area. My group has played here several times. The conditions have always been very good. you can go across the bay and pay $100.00 or go to Niceville and pay $45-50 depending on the time of year and time of day.
