We visited Eight Oaks at their Allentown Farmer's Market stand, which they just opened. The employees were nice. The owner was informative and helpful. Their Gin is surprisingly light and does not have the typical overwhelming flavor of juniper berries. The berries are still evident, but the Gin is tempered by other flavors. This was the first time that I tried Applejack, and I was not disappointed. This was a surprising treat! The Rum was smooth. We made some purchases, and will return!

What a great view from the knob. We've been hiking to the knob for many years. If your lucky enough to be there w few people it's quite and majestic. But sometimes it gets busy. Still worth checking it out. especially if your a bird watcher.

Oct 2017: Wanted someplace to go and we fount this place on the "local places to go" Leigh Valley Website. The GPS dropped us by the service gate. Another half mile drive to the real entrance. It's off Rt 309, our GPS again took the nice scenic route. Seniors are $12 (65), and you can buy tokens at the front gate only, due to the season. Two other places/shops are closed since it's basically empty on this week day. Lots of little tykes and carriages as well as hill's and hills. So you will get your exercise today. Two large play areas half way around w/bathrooms, food and picnic by the entrance. Feeding areas are paid for, the one bird cage is $2 cash, most take the tokens you must pre buy. Picnic tables abound in the park. The otter area was very active, many animals were just hanging around their boxes. At this time they are setting up lots and lots if lights for their Nov to New Years program. Food prices are good, water/soda $2, burgers and dogs $3.00-2.50. And many more items. Gift shop, not bad prices, some items are "eco" so the prices reflect that. A large penguin or otter will set you back $30. Smalls are $10-15. All in various colors! Two HC parking areas in the large lots. Winter rates Nov Dec, check website.

At Galen Glen, we farm wine. Ancient glacial soils atop millions of years old sea fossils form our topography. The land was patiently waiting for us, yielding only scrawny crops for our ancestors. As 6th generation stewards of our farm, we sustainably and respectfully balance nature and science. Our wines reflect a delicate tension of acid and ripeness, punctuated by a powerful sense of location.
We were referred by the B & B where we were staying, they touted it as a fantatstic little winery, and supplied us with a list of wines to test and consider for a dinner the following night. The winery is beautiful, very well maintained,...MoreThanks for spending some time with us. We are delighted that you enjoyed the experience and our wines and look forward to seeing you on a future visit.

It takes us about an hour to get to this drive in but it is definitely worth the trip! It is a very nice drive in. Nice snack bar. Friendly smiling employees. Clean bathrooms. We always have fun even if the movie ends up only being so-so. I have recommended it to many of my friends and they all enjoy it as well.

For over 30 years, Blue Mountain has produced a wide range of wines produced from grapes grown in the Lehigh Valley's New Tripoli, PA. The Lehigh Valley has an incredible micro climate similar to that of the northern Burgundy region of France, as well as the southern part of the Loire Valley. Pair that with soil that is rich with shale and limestone and you have a recipe for world class "old world" style wines. We pride ourselves on creating a fun and friendly connection with our customers. Ultimately, our efforts are focused on making world-class wine. We have been producing international, award-winning wines and even as we grow our motto remains unchanged, "Quality over quanity."
I had no trouble getting the tour through groupon and had excellent customer service when I called the winery. I was very pleased to know that if the coupon date ran out, they would still honor it. Of course I took the woman's name for verification if that would be needed.
We visited on Saturday, April 29, 2017. We had the wine and chocolate tour. I wish I had known the difference between the chocolate and the cheese tours. If you choose 'cheese' you get sweeter wines and chocolate you don't. I was disappointed in the wines that were paired with the chocolate. We ordered a cheese plate in order to taste the sweeter wines. All in all, I wish I knew the difference with the cheese vs chocolate choice before going and making reservations. My fault for not asking the difference because I was given the choice on the phone.
All in all the vineyard tour was informative but repetitive and lengthy. The tour before us was running late and that could be the reason for excessive explanations. I enjoyed it but by the end my group was just ready to drink some wine and get moving.
The place is very nice and it is most likely a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon when it's snowing and blustery or in the Fall too! The employees treated us great and it was a nice day out.
I thought it was a bit expensive (pricing on a tiny box of chocolate $7) We left and went down the road to a local restaurant with homemade foods, Blue Mountain Summit Restaurant - DELICIOUS homemade food.

Very friendly staff members here! They were well-informed about their wines, but presented the info on a low-key level........totally reflecting the ambiance of this winery.
They do also have a tasting room located near us, but we preferred to drive to the vineyard itself. Glad that we did! It was a lovely drive in the country and there were signs posted along our route, so we had no problem finding the place.
We really enjoyed the quirky names of some of the wines......."Nothing to Wine About", etc.
As for the wines, the winery makes quite a nice variety of them......from chardonnay to cabernet sauvignon to assorted fruit wines. Something for everyone!
