Lake is beutiful and it is definately worth to go there! We went there with Aman from Kyrgyz Riders (It is easy to find them on facebook). Everything was perfect. There was only few yurts in the camp. First night there was no other tourists, next night just one more couple. We took horse ride. It was our first time on horses, with these nature around, calm horses and guide - it was really fantasic new experience!
I also spoke with CBT, but they wanted 3 times more money, so I decided to go with Kyrgyz riders. And it was excelent choice, becuse we passed near the CBT camp, and it was really awful! A large number of Yurts, a lot of tourist (I attached photos which compare Kyrgyz Riders camp and CBT camp).
Song Kol is amazing place, but my advice is - avoid CBT, and go with some smaller company to the calmer part of Song Kol area.

Salkun-Tur is a large national park just outside Naryn City. I was there on a July Sunday, and there were only a handful of other people there, almost all of them picnicing near the entrance. I hiked into the park along the river, and was all alone in the beautiful Mountains after 20 minutes of hiking. The trail is steep in places, but passes through beautiful scenery. The river is pristine.

In Kyrgyz Eki Naryn means Two Naryn its where the who largest rivers in Naryn come together to create the Naryn River. The views are really nice and worth seeing. It was cool to go horse back riding in this area with Kubat Tour Company.

Its in the valley of Kok Kay on the boarder of Naryn and China. Its a wild place full of deep rivers and large Canyons that very very few people have ever seen. If you find locals they will be shepherds breading Yaks and sheep.
You will need to get a boarder permit in Naryn City at Kubat Tour.

If the weather is nice the view from the pass is amazing!
When I was there I asked my driver to stop at the top of the pass so I could take a picture but I could not see Son Kul. The pass is 3385 m and its on the way to Kyzyl-Oi. The whole area is vary wild and very few people live there and you can really feel like your out there! It's not easy to get there with public transport. I was told that there is only one bus leaving from Naryn City each day during the summer from the bus station but I could not find it and I took a taxi it was not cheep. This summer I'm thinking about going there on bike.

Our business was created to help tourists find accomodations, tours, and transportation, both within Naryn City and throughout Naryn oblast. We provide our guests with access to travel permits, clean and comfortable guest houses, and excellent drivers. Come to our office for information, free wi-fi, and a delicious cup of real coffee.
The operator of the CBT, Gulira, has great energy and intentions to show visitors a great time. While she is not the best communicator over WhatsApp or email, which can make preparatory planning frustrating, she works long hours during high season and has no concerns making same-day Reservations for guesthouses. Gulira booked us two nights at a local guesthouse, a one-day horse trip up in Eki-Naryn and organized our boarder zone permits required to visit Chatyr Kul. The guesthouses were clean and comfortable. The horse ride was beautiful. To feel comfortable organizing these things, I'd highly recommend arriving at the office at a reasonable time to speak with her in person.

Kyrgyz-travel is a newly energized, family-owned travel agency committed to sharing the under-explored beauty of Kyrgyzstan while working to encourage "voluntourism" service and financially sustainable projects in rural Kyrgyzstan.
Nathan and his family are from the United States but have relocated permanently to Kyrgyzstan. In addition to understanding the western tourism market, they have an in-depth knowledge of this Central Asian region and culture. Nathan employs a 100% local workforce where everybody earns a fair market wage in order to provide for their families. Kyrgyz-Travel has pledged to invest any profits into various job creating businesses for locals.
We decided to give Kyrgyz-Travel the opportunity to organize our trip for these reasons and we're very glad we did! It was easy to communicate with Nathan, who was also our guide and driver on this trip, and the easy flexibility of our itinerary allowed us to explore wherever our interests led us. He was extremely caring and organized, knew the locals, and facilitated interactions whenever possible. We highly recommend using the services of this agency if you're planning to visit Kyrgyzstan.

Ala Mischuk is the name of the three-peak mountain that looms over Naryn City to the south. A reasonably fit person can climb to the top and back down in one long day (6-12 hours, round trip). The route to the top starts just behind the large park across from the westerly automobile bridge that crosses the Naryn River. Go through the park to the canal behind the park, then look for the small, concrete bridge that crosses the canal. Across that bridge, you'll see some houses up on a ledge. Climb up to the houses and along the street in front of them, which leads to a large valley. Follow the valley past the first green valley opening on the right as you climb. When you come to the second green valley (at 41º26'04”N, 76º06'17”E), follow it up through the trees. It's a long, steep climb. When you get up out of that valley, you'll see the peak above you to your right, up a long, steep, grassy slope. Climb up an enjoy the views!

Last time I was in Naryn City I went to Kubat Tour and Kubat told me that the Naryn Reserve was really amazing place to see. I went there with his taxi and it was very easy going. Next time I would like to go on horseback and see the higher Mountains.

From Naryn City you can hire a private taxi that can take you to Son-Kul. There is more than one way to get to Son-Kul but the best way is to go over the Moldo-Ashu pass. The pass is about 3200 m and many people love the views you can get to Son-Kul. Really its amazing! Just watch out of there is bad weather and even in July there can be snow up there so dress warm and be ready for anything!
