We've driven through Narrandera many times on our family drive between Melbourne and Armidale, and never knew this place existed. A 47deg day and a quick search for a community pool we stumbled upon this, and wondered how we could have not known about this hidden oasis - it was just so good! 3 pools (shallow, medium and deep/lap), 2 water slides, shaded platforms in the pools to rest, and umbrellas over sections of the pools to comfortably rest in the water on a hot day. Lots of green grassy and shaded areas to put your stuff down on, and fabulous old fashioned country customer service from the counter to the kiosk and the lifeguards. Better yet it was such great value (when we visited it was $4pp entry, 50c slide rides and $1 slushies and sundaes) . You could easily spend a day here with the kids, without breaking the budget, and you'd all walk out happy. We'll be back there again for sure, and may even consider staying at the caravan park accomodation next door. Highly recommend this pool and water park as a summer stop for families with young, tween and teenagers.

A place to start you Murrumbidgee River and Riverina wanderings. You can get advice from friendly locals, information on Narrandera and surrounding region, purchase local produce and handraft wares. The Narrandera Visitor Information Centre has all the information you need to make your stay unforgettable.
We called in and asked if it was sealed road access to do our walk along the river. It was recommended that we may see one at the bridge near Rocky Waterhole road and we did!

Open from 8am to 8pm. You can explore the western reaches of Lake Talbot by canoe while adventurous other can water ski to the eastern end.
The Lake Ralbot Caravan Park is a fantastic place to stay. Very well organised, super clean and pet friendly. We had an excellent view across the lake and went for many walks into the Koala Reserve. It was such a privilege to see koalas, kangaroos and an outstanding range of birds throughout our stay. Narrandera was a fantastic place to stay and we will be planning another trip soon.

Popped in randomly but was an absolute highlight of our trip round NSW. We were recommended to go here from the Aboriginal Art Gallery in Kempsey and really glad we did. Michael is a master didgeridoo maker and he has clearly been passing on what he knows to his son. They took us on a tour of the workshop and educated us on how didgeridoos are made. We then got to look at all the didgeridoos, boomerangs and other pieces of Aboriginal art in their gallery as well as listening to Michael playing. Ended up buying a beautiful didgeridoo after wanting one for years. Highly highly recommend!

For anyone with even the slightest interest in planes, aviation and World War II this is certainly a great memorial and exhibition. Just love that beautifully restored Tiger Moth!

If you want to experience the excitement of spotting a koala in its natural habitat, then head to the Narrandera Flora and Fauna reserve. Part of the Murrumbidgee Valley National park, the reserve is home to over 200 koalas that were reintroduced in the 1970s, when the local koala population had been hunted to extinction across the region in the early 1900s for the fur trade.
This was the highlight of our trip. To see a koala in the wild was fantastic. We had sore necks from looking up at the trees as we walked but this was all part of the fun. We had a great walk to the water and spotted 2 koalas in the wild. This is a must.
The John O'Brien Heritage Museum is a dedication to Father Patrick Hartigan, a Catholic priest & bush poet who wrote many of Australia's best known bush poems. Incorporating the spirit of the bush into his poems. He wanted to promote the lives of the early Irish catholic / colonial history by looking at how they lived their lives. Come step back in time and explore a piece of Australia's history!
