For sure it is the most beautiful church tha i have seen in my life. I got in the morning to the bus terminal and few minutes later I was in a shared taxi in way to Las Lajas.

This is a great day trip from Pasto. Easy to get there by collectivo from near park Bolivar (5000 COP), travel about 40 minutes through very pretty landscape. We got out of the bus by the turn to the village and walked the two kilometers to enjoy a slow arrival to the village. This is very pleasant stroll. The village itself is incredibly pictoresque and cute with lots of colors and wooden houses on stilts, completely different from everything we've seen in Colombia. You can take a boat to the island (50000COP per boat) and hike through a beautiful forest to a viewpoint (entrance fee 10000 COP). The boat will wait for you. It's also a great place to swim if you don't mind cold-ish water. In the town there are plenty of restaurants with set menus with a local trout - delicious (8000 - 12000 COP per meal). Really great day out! Plus the weather is usually better by the lake than in Pasto. Highly recommended!

Majestic cathedral to visit, highly recommended! It's located in the heart of the city and one of the most emblemating churches. In the nearby zone consider also to take some pictures of the Cristo Rey church.

This is so stunning and it hits you as you are crossing the border just this strike of beauty= it is absolutely gorgeous and I had no idea it was there1 What a surprise! the dramatic landscape is fascinating and topped with an ornate intricately designed stunning church, IN THE MIDDLE OF GORGEOUS FORESTED MOUNTAINS. iT LOOKS MORE LIKE fRANCE OR sWITZERLAND THAN Colombia. There are not enough adjectives in English to describe the strikingly beautiful place certainly the most beautiful in Colombia. THis is a must see or forget going to Colombia.
