We really enjoyed visiting the Tengwang Pavilion with our almost 13 year old daughter who's birthplace is Nanchang. Our last visit was 10 years ago when we adopted her. I couldn't believe how much Nanchang had changed in 10 years - a much cleaner, nicer city. The pavilion was just as a remembered it - several stories of beautiful paintings and art work. The views from each balcony are amazing. We also enjoyed walking in the Gardens.

Taken there by a friend who lives in the city. Really good evening. However really packed as it was a National Holiday. Definately worth taking the time out to see the Fountains and the light show.

The Star of Nanchang is one of the main attractions of the city. Not only foreigners but also locals go for a ride in this ferris wheel and in about 30 minutes you will have amazing views.
As a recommendation, try to get there by sunset. Really great views.

This was one of the first places i visited when I first got to Nanchang. I was actually at the walmart opposite when I noticed all the kites in the sky. Crossing the road and spending time with the locals at the square was very heart warming to see kids with their parents flying kites and playing. The Bayi square gives off a very family community loving feeling and the monuments that are located within the square tell off a story of the wars and struggles that the people of Nanchang had to face.

This used to be the best place to shop in Nanchang and it is next to a Parksons. There is a subway and only subway line near it but it is becoming old. A lot of shops and a Starbucks there as well. We came here for Chinese New Year and my son got a bunny made of candy. Overall it isn't nice as the malls in Honggutan but for the old Nanchang City Center is it fine.

Pay to enter. Small courtyard with tall tower, cannot go up unfortunately. Can go inside the two temples . Also has a large bell to see. Prob worth half an hour to look around, more if you want to sit around and drink in the ambience ..

Meiling Mountain is wonderful! It is easily accessible from Nan chang, either by hiring a car and driver, which gives you more freedom, and taking a bus from Nanchang. There is a fee for entering the mountain area and lovely walks to follow through mountain, past Waterfalls and streams, through the picturesque, unspoilt countryside. Your walk can be completed with a homemade meal at a villager's house in the village of Shi Bi.
Another option is to head to the river for white water rafting. You are provided with life jacket, but no helmut - what fun it is! Two to a boat, the course is long and adrenalin-making.

We visited this temple while in Nanchang. It was nice and peaceful and has the sites that are typical for a Buddhist temple. It was not remarkable in any way we also visited the Lama temple in Beijing and the Jade Buddha temple in Shanghai and they were more unique. If you are looking to spend an hour or so in Nanchang this is a fine choice. Across the street is a nice park that you should visit while you are there.

Lovely grounds, where you can stroll or take a pedal boat out on the lakes. There is also a small fun-fair for the children.
Bada shanren's house is beautiful and so are its Gardens - peaceful and serene. The exhibition hall is also very interesting to see Bada Shanren's art as well as works of other artists.
