Akame Shijuhachi(48)-Taki(waterfall) was great. I have some tips for whoever wants to get there.
1) Firstly- transportation! don't be fooled by Google Maps, There is a way to get to the entrance only be public transportation. After you get to the station near the waterfall area (I don't remember the name, but there's only one...) go with the left side of the sidewalk and join the line to the bus. its final destination is near the waterfall. you just need to climb up the road and get to the entrance. A photo will be uploaded soon.
##**~~~ you can use JRPass for a free ride in this bus ~~~**##
2) Secondly- get ready to walk uphill. There are 48 Waterfalls, which means 48 Waterfalls height to climb. there are tons of stairs and it takes probably about 5 hours to do one-way track. If you want to do the whole track and not quit in the middle and return (as my family) consider the walking time, come early and be ready to come back at night, since it's not a circular track.
Also, This track is good for everyone, from children to elderly- be sure your knees are ready for an uphill and downhill walking.
3) Food~! Near the entrance there's a yummy pastries' stand. it's the nearest stand to the entrance- highly recommended!!!!!!
4) Stamps! There are brochures next to the entrance (PANFULETO in japanease) and if you get 4 or more stamps (during the track there are places to stamp your brochure)- you can get a present. I don't know what it is since I only had three.
5) There are places to buy something to drink in the middle of the track, but it's a little pricey so try to bring our own water and food
6) The fee is attached in a photo. 400 yen for an adult and 150 yen for a child (younger than 18).

During all seasons, the heavenly mountain landscapes around Lake Shorenji are reflected on the blue surface of the lake. There are also parks and tennis courts around the lake, and you can even enjoy birdwatching, bass fi shing, etc.

. . . foreign travelers, which is why this is the first English review. This series of Waterfalls is not as famous as the one in Izu Peninsula. While Iga Ueno is popular with foreign tourists, they don't realize that the salamander center/Akame Falls are close by. I've seen the giant Japanese salamander on Japan TV, but this is really the only place where you can view them. What's nice is you can combine the museum with a hike to Akame Falls, so you kill two birds with one stone.
The problem with the hike is be sure to give yourself enough time. It is not a loop, so you have to hike to the end and then double back. I started at 3:00 PM in the afternoon which is not recommended, as I was paranoid about the time. I am a quick walker so I think it took me 2 hrs to get to the end and head back. It's a nice place to have an obento lunch.
It's sorta hard to identify every one of the Waterfalls, and a lot of them were a bit obscure. However this place should not be missed to those going to Iga Ueno, to impart a bit of nature to the day. I had a rental car, which made it easier.

Along the Shirenji River, a tributary from Nabari River, lies a giant natural pillar-like wall of flat rocks which, extend approximately eight kilometers in length. During spring, one can enjoy the scenic view of mountain cherry blossoms and azaleas in the ravine along this giant walls. The ravine, covered in vivid green leaves would turn bright red in autum.
