One of the smallest producers of wines in Murrumbateman, Dionysus Winery punches above its weight. With a large range of wines made on site, using estate grown fruit, there is a wine to suit everyone. As well as enjoying the wines, visitors can relax with a glass of wine (or coffee made with locally roasted beans) and enjoy food from our range of tapas or a cheese plate. There are no stunning beauties behind the counter - just Michael and Wendy -owners and winemakers. They may not look the best but they know about the wines!
Wendy was an amazing host. The tasting came out in a nifty test tube arrangement which made the experience really cool. The cheese plate is a must with the home made quince paste!

Helm was recommended to us by a sommelier at a restaurant in Kingston as it was one of the few Canberra wineries that we hadn't visited and we have absolutely been missing out. Ken delivers amazing Riesling from every vineyard and shows what Cabernet Sauvignon can do here in Canberra. I absolutely recommend Helm to anyone visiting the Canberra wine region.

Experience the unique beauty of the Australian countryside by riding on horseback through our 3500 acre property on the outskirts of Canberra
I went on my first twilight ride with Burnelee this past weekend. They were such a lovely bunch of people and their horses are well looked after and great to ride. Their communication was amazing when the storms postponed our ride until the next day. As an experienced rider, they were able to cater to my needs and took us out for a canter, but they also looked after the beginner riders as well. The food and drink was amazing. I will definitely be going back !

A boutique winery producing high quality wines from the cool climate Canberra District. Sited on ancient decomposed granite soils it produces spicy, savoury wines with intense fruit characteristics. The grapes are hand picked and hand plunged and basket pressed in a traditional French style of wine making. The wines have won many awards. The cellar door opens Sunday afternoons or by appointment.
Mckellar Ridge Vinyard was the best experience that we had in our brief self guided tour of Murrumbateman and it's vinyards. Each of the wines were interesting and tasty. Being able to compare a 2018 alongside a 2019 wine of the same grape is an excellent way to learn about how weather changes year to year impact taste. No other vineyard we visited did tastings this way. Marina and John were friendly and attentive, the cheese board was a great accompaniment to the wines and their aspiration to grow and improve as winemakers is interesting to hear.

Blackwattle Alpaca Farm is located only 25 minutes from Canberra, making it an ideal location for a day trip with your family or friends. Surrounded by wineries with views of the Brindabella Ranges, our farm offers picturesque views and is in an unique location to learn about alpacas, their luxury fibre and beautiful products they can produce. As we are a working alpaca farm, we can offer visitors an insight into farming alpacas in Australia.
If you are a yarn addict, you won't regret a trip out here. Everything is gorgeous and there is a wide range of beautiful yarns and other products to choose from. You can even have your own custom colours dyed. If you're heading out, book a farm tour so you can meet the gorgeous Alpacas and Llama's! There are also workshops to learn about various crafting skills. The staff are beautiful and we had an amazing time! I will be back for sure.

We love the simple things; making great wine and wood-fired pizzas. What started out as one couple’s dream to grow and sell grapes has turned into an inter-generational family business. Four Winds Vineyard now grows grapes, makes wine and has built a cellar door so that each weekend you can come and enjoy our wines with wood-fired pizzas. We have aimed to create a cellar door that you will find fun and welcoming. Material that was lying around the vineyard we have re-purposed to use in the building. You will see our wooden picking bins cladding the building and our wine barrels in our light fittings and tables. Just 30 minutes from Canberra, we look forward to welcoming you to Four Winds Vineyard.
Very friendly and helpful staff complimented by some tasty food selections and delicious wines to tempt. If you are going to visit on a weekend it doesn’t hurt to book!

We sell hand made chocolates using Belgian Fair Trade Callebaut couverture. We also have tea, coffee and hot chocolate drinks. All the chocolates and the fillings are made on the premises. We are open fro Thursday to Monday, 10AM - 5PM. We are not open on Good Friday or Easter Sunday. We are not on the corner of Murrumbateman Road and Nanima Road,(as shown on Trip Advisor map, but 2 km from Murrumbateman Road on Nanima Road.
Look out for the sign on the Barton Hwy which says Robyn Rowe Chocolates. It is a small cafe, on a path not taken by too many. Consider this a detour to gourmet chocolate heaven. Besides being located in such a cosy setting near a little lake, the chocolaterie accepts cards so I was able to shop to my heart's content. There are little gift boxes (different sizes) which Robyn offered to pack for a small add on cost or just pick the chocolates of which there are at many varieties and there is standard packing also available. Chocolates are made fresh every week and I can personally vouch for the quality. I found it hard to choose from the whole selection but there is something for everyone, milk chocolate and dark chocolate options available for each type of beautifully crafted piece. There are chocolate koala, kangaroo, frogs, cars, hears and spoon shaped chocolate for the kiddies. I saw a menu for brownies and warm beverages and I wish I had more time to sample the cafe's offerings but that will have to wait for my next visit. If you are driving down to Canberra or heading back home, highly recommend a visit to Robyn Rowe's Chocolate Shop.
