We toured the lake, both on the east side and again on the north side, saying next to the shore line when the road permitted. Many parks, beautiful places to walk, and scenery for the camera. Each trip took about1/2 a day. Well worth the time.

I visited Mount Dora this past Dec.2017. First time there. Great place for family and relaxation. If you love history, antiques, great food from around the world, this is a great place to visit. It is small town just 2 hours north of Orlando. We went during Christmas which is the best time to go. The decorations are out of this world. There is Sea food, French food, German, Mexican, Cuban and American. It is a melting pot of cultures. There are actuall hills in the roads that is a rare site in Florida. Many antiques shops and museum. Mount dora Lake is very popular. You can take a 2 hour tour all around the lakes and the canals. You can see the beautiful homes and many wild life. Even bald Eagles nesting if you look up in the trees. Must visit the museum of speed if you want to go back in time. If you love cars as my son does, this will take your breath away. The actual owner give you the tours if you want. Great stories and history of how thing were. Driving time from Miami 6.5 hours. There are many beautiful Inns and suites in the Mount Dora Town which are a little pricing. But you can get a hotel in 441 which is 5 to 10 min away for a very reasonable price including breakfast. Must go to Reginers frea Market. You can find anything and everything. We spent around $300 worth of collectibles and antiques. Happy vacation

Located on 117 acres of scenic, rolling land, in beautiful Lake County, the heart of Central Florida. Amid spreading oaks, garlands of Spanish moss waving gently from their branches, you'll find the best of both worlds!Renninger's Mount Dora Markets are just 30 minutes north of Orlando, FL, on U.S. 441, just north of Route 46. Antiques Center Open Fridays 10 to 4, Saturdays & Sundays 9 to 5.Farmers & Flea Sat. & Sun 8 to 4
Our friends took us here for the day when we were visiting. Be prepared to walk. There are vendors galore here. If you can find what you are looking for it doesn't exist. There is a antique center here and also a flea market. It totally boggles the mind. Food vendors as well, so you don't have to leave to eat and come back. The vendors that we spoke to were very friendly. Actually bought a few things, they were eager to barter. It was a great day and we enjoyed it very much.....

Playground, pavilion, and restrooms are pretty much the amenities here.
There is a section for camping, a place to launch boats, a large pavilion, and walking trails. Great for huge groups!
This is where we have our annual « corn boil/ church picnic « annually in fact!
It is a great location for reunions and celebrations when the season is cooler!
I have been the only person in the park often enough on week days.
In fact, we brought our preschooler son here to learn to ride and practice biking:-)
If you already know & love Trimble Park, you know of the decreasing funds for such areas.
HurricaneIrma brought down a lot of brush & trees.
I would love to see a community clean up here to help bring Trimble back to 100% again.

Modernism Museum is dedicated to showcasing the inspiration and design creativity in the largest known collection of Modernist art by some of the most iconic and influential American masters of the craft. The Museum offers an unprecedented collection of Fine Art and Design, one that defines the Studio Crafts Movement, from mid-century works to those being created today. The newest exhibit, "esherick to NAKASHIMA," will focus on the Studio Arts movement and how both Wharton Esherick and George Nakashima used wood to tell a story. This show is a must-see for all who love art!
Great museum to see very unusual furniture style. The current exhibit is by the Memphis design group. the exhibit features David Bowie's furniture.

We were very surprised by the theatre itself. Nice lobby, parking, excellent seats. We saw "Man of La Mancha". The set was professional level. The cast was excellent. There were a few minor sound problems but the overall production was excellent. My only disappointment was that the music was taped.

If you have never been here you need to get on over. They have the best sweet corn around. It's a short season so you need to hurry. We got 3 dozen ears of corn., fresh picked tomatoes and cucumbers. Several jars of homemade dips, sauces and jellies. Great people and nice farm. They also have a corn maze for the kids. Check them out

We loved visiting the historical society and can't believe we walked past it a million times in all our visits to Mount Dora!
Our guide - I wish I could remember her name - was engaging, informative, and friendly. She provided us with so much interesting information about the facility, Mount Dora's history, unique tidbits of lore, etc. We are so happy that she offered to take us around and show us everything - and she had an answer for each and every one of our questions!
Admission is $2 for adults and boy - for the amount of historical artifacts in that building and the stories they hold - it is WORTH IT!
A hint - please take the time to actually look at everything and ask questions and engage with the volunteers. Don't just walk through in 5 minutes and then complain about your experience later! Be proactive and be present in the moment - enjoy it! It's a treasure trove of Mount Dora history!

I love this little park. Been coming here for years. It's a nice retreat from the Mt Dora tourist congestion. Boardwalk along Lake Dora and a hiking trail to make a loop. Great area to spot wildlife, especially gators. Usually not a lot of visitors here, even though it's within walking distance from downtown. Excellent park for some meditation in nature. This is the REAL Florida.
Highly recommended!
