This Amphitheater you have to go to at least 1 time in your life to see a show or your favorite band. It has to be on your bucket list! An amazing amphitheater with beautiful sound. We went to go see Bon Iver because it was some one we kind of knew and it was one of the best shows I’ve been to. There is also hiking trails around the park if you also want do before the show which we did or your can tail gate before the show and make new friends. Don’t forget to check out city lights when it’s dark! Definitely a must see for anyone who loves music.

Lair O' the Bear Park

Several hiking trails, some are flat and follow the creek while one trail climbs up a bluff (easy to moderate) and is a bit rocky and narrow in places. Good family hikes, not too strenuous. Lots of shade trees, and plenty of spots along the creek to fish or relax. Many picnic tables located in shady spots. One of my favorite parks, an easy drive from Denver heading west.

This is a regular hike. I've taken my kids on this hike since they were very little. It is not stroller friendly.... but close... We normally stop at the tower for lunch

Dinosaur Ridge

Dinosaur Ridge contains over 300 Cretaceous dinosaur footprints, a few dozen Jurassic dinosaur bones, plus many other trace fossils from ripple marks to plant impressions. At the Visitor Center, you can visit the gift shop, sluice mine for your own mineral or fossil finds, or take a Trek through Time in our exhibit hall.

Nice little area near Denver with a couple of hiking and biking trails, and more importantly - and probably your main reason for coming here in the first place - lots of dinosaur history and dinosaur tracks for your enjoyment. There's a small, but rather uninteresting gift shop and possibly interesting (didn't visit) museum with a bunch of of fiberglass dinosaurs in the yard. The main drag along the ridgeline is an easy and paved path (it's actually a paved road for cars) along some plaques with info on what happened there a couple dozen million years ago. You can spy the Red Rocks area from this path. Locals that are into hiking can probably spend the better part of their day here, especially when connecting with the Red Rocks trails but occasional visitors should allot about one to two hours.
