The winery is situated in Mezzocorona in the heart of the Piana Rotaliana an area traditionally dedicated to wine growing due to its climatic and geological characteristics forming a perfect terroir for the great Teroldego varietal. The “Cantina” is first recorded as a farm and winery in the 1400's. It passed through some of the most important families of Trentino and eventually in 1860 Andreas Martinelli founded the current brand and started the production of quality wine which was exported throughout Europe gaining recognition and winning awards. Today the fifth generation of the Martinelli family are engaged in large-scale restoration projects in order to continue the tradition of fine winemaking. Drop in and see the work in progress or book a wine tasting with one of the family.
Simply one of the coolest places around Mezzocorona. The building itself is a stunning traditional winery with an elegant courtyard full of ancient winemaking tools and barrels. The winery is family-owned and the hosts are really kind and it's always a pleasure to have a chat and sip their amazing Teroldego with a view on their vineyards.

We took the funivia up to see family I hadn't seen in over 40 years in the rain. My cousin worked it for that many years and at one time it was the only way to get up and down. On the way down it stopped. Up high in the fog was scary but they used the intercom to advise us they knew we were in the gondola. A power failure shut it down and after some time we came down very slowly using a back up system. It's quite high but offers an incredible view and once up too there is short walks to hotels and polenta and strudel
