Turtle walks are held in June and July.
We didn't have any plans for Thursday and found out about the sea turtle preservation society via TripAdvisor. We decided to stop and we are so pleased that we did. The clerk, Donna, was very enthusiastic about what the society does. She was so kind, and helpful. She told us about a turtle release that was happening that afternoon further south of Melbourne. She took the time to give us directions and show us exactly how to get to that beach section and park. We were able to find the spot and participate in the release of two turtles. It made our day. My husband and I could not have been happier. They also have great T-shirts and other gifts that of course pertain to turtles. They also provide an educational experience about turtles. It is well worth a stop.

Our guided tours of the interior of the Rossetter House Museum, the Houston Cemetery, and the gardens include an entertaining and informative discussion of the history of Eau Gallie, the Rossetter Family, and the Roesch Family. We also offer several events throughout the year. Go to our website rossetterhousemuseum or our official Facebook Page Rossetter House Museum for more information on these special events.
I bumped into this place while riding through the Eau Galle district of Melbourne, FL and had no idea what a treasure it was. I also had no idea that the house and families who inhabited it were so instrumental in developing the area. Our tour guide, Barbara really knew her history and provided many stories of the house, local history, grounds, and familes in the house. I would definitely recommend visiting this house if you are into history, particularly local history. Definitely worth the time to visit. Had no idea this is an event venue for weddings, showers, and other gatherings, too. Many interesting plants on the grounds, too.

Explore the world of animals at Brevard Zoo, an internationally accredited facility home to giraffe, rhinos, big cats and hundreds of colorful parrots. Interactive experiences include giraffe and bird feedings, a children's water play area and kayaking around animal habitats.
My wife and I sited the Brevard zoo with our two granddaughters and their parents. And I have to say everyone had a GREAT time from the youngest (2 years old) to The oldest (67years old). It is hard to capture all the things we saw! There were whole sections we didn't even get to. This zoo is vast for a venue that was originally a community development built by local volunteers. The Africa section with the rhinos and feeding the giraffe was a huge hit. The lorikeet experience of hand feeding the birds had the girls speechless. They could hardly believe it as three lorikeets landed on mommy's arm and ate nectar from the cup. A must see for everyone! The train ride allows you to cool off and see some of the back areas with camels and Oryx and ostrich. The paws on splash pad must be last with the little ones, because you can never get the to leave. We never even got to kayaking or tree top treck. As far as favorites i would say the girls liked the meerkats and The jaguar. They laughed endlessly at the playful meerkats. At the jaguar, the four year old sat down by the window just as the older male walked over and sat down right in front of her and started to roar for several minutes. Our granddaughter was convinced the jaguar was talking to her. The zoo was a massive hit with everyone young and old !!! We will be back several times yearly now that we have experienced the fun!

Wonderful relaxing drive through to enjoy and educate yourselves on our migrating birds and other wildlife. Please keep your pets at home. There are many very large Alligators that would love to have a meal. Children need to keep voices down and be supervised by adults. This is not a playground. There are many professional nationwide photographers and artists that travel to enjoy our wetlands. Please respect their space and our wildlife too.

Nice Beach Near Melbourne Large, Clean Beach and plenty of Free Parking. Shaded Picnic area and tables are adequately distant so bring your lunch or mid day snack. Clean restrooms. Playground and food truck. A little over an hour drive from Orlando or St Augustine if you are visiting the area. Also, other nice beaches along that stretch from Merritt Island to Vero Beach. A stream bordered by a shady hammock abounding in palm trees and other tropical growth winds through the heart of the campus and is the setting for a 15-acre Botanical Garden. The main trail has been named the Dent Smith Trail in honor of the founder of the Palm Society, a worldwide organization primarily engaged in the study of the palm family, in all its aspects. Florida Tech's Garden, through the intense interest of Founding President Emeritus Jerome P. Keuper and the inspiration and help of Mr. Dent Smith in the 1960's, has become one of the most unique campus botanical gardens of its kind in the continental United States. This is a public garden. We have limited staff and love volunteers! There is no fee to visit (self-guided) and we are open from sunrise to sunset. If you would like a guided tour, docents are available with advance notice. A donation of your choosing is recommended for guided tours. As there are natural water features and other potential hazards, please exercise caution during your visit. There are several specimen, delicate or possibly poisonous plants planted or naturally occurring in this garden and hammock. Parents, please maintain appropriate control over your children at all times. Well-mannered dogs on leashes are welcome on the trails only. For your safety, please stay on the trails or within walled areas. Thank you!
A beautiful, serene garden with 15 acres of beautiful plants. There's a little turtle pond, a small schoolhouse from Melbourne's first one room school (I believe) and places to have a picnic or catch up with friends. A beautiful little gem in the middle of Melbourne.

Here for a few weeks and this a great place to walk and get your steps in. This is a huge park and if you have an RV a great place to camp with full hookups and being a county park the price is very right.

We have visited zoos all over the country and found the Brevard Zoo to be one of the most impressive!! It’s very well laid out, and delightful to experience the animals in natural settings. The zookeepers and volunteers were extremely friendly and helpful. Our 2 boys, ages 4&3, marveled at every turn and really enjoyed the opportunity to feed the giraffes and fish. Highly recommend!
