Ascend the hill to enjoy treetop vistas, amble around Holt Pond, or follow trails that leads through an adjacent Trustees reservation to the Charles River.
Today was my first time at Noon Hill / Shattuck and I will definitely return. Trails are interesting, well blazed and well maintained by the Medfield Trustees. I am an experienced hiker and I was able to plan a hike that included all the blazed loops in the two reservations with minimal backtracking. I ended up with a hike of 8.2 miles and a bit over 650 feet of ascent. The beauty of the reservations is that because of the numerous looped trails within, many very pleasing shorter hikes can be accomplished, therefore satisfying hikers of all skill and experience levels. The view from Noon Hill summit is worth the climb. The downloadable trail map is very accurate and clear.

Vine Lake Cemetery continues to evolve. From its geological beginnings, it has a varied terrain and natural beauty. Human ideas about death, landscape design, and visitor needs have continually transformed the cemetery since its founding in 1651. Through it all, it has remained a peaceful and dignified open space for the dead to rest and for the living to visit and enjoy.

The forest has reclaimed this centuries-old pasture land along the Charles, where trails poke out to the river's edge with lovely views. A paddler's favorite.
