Though Mumbai can feel chaotic and crowded, there are peaceful moments to be found here. Nibble a paper cone of bhelpuri while you stroll the sands of Chowpatty Beach. Then, take a short walk to Mani Bhavan, where Mahatma Gandhi once lived, strategized, and was ultimately arrested. The markets are spirited places to bargain for spices or souvenirs. Take a guided tour of Dharavi – made famous by "Slumdog Millionaire" – for an eye-opening glimpse into what Mumbai life is like for nearly a million people.

The Mumbai G.P.O is a functioning and major post office in Mumbai that was built in the latter stages of the British Empire. Although built by a British architect, John Begg, there's no obvious European influence on the design. It is an excellent example of Indo-Islamic style of the various Islamic empires of the Indian subcontinent. The building is so good looking, it could pass for a palace. Inside, the GPO is huge for a post office and one of the reasons is the many facilities that are still conducted in this post office, banking, mail and stamped related shopping etc. The layout of the interior is quite old fashioned from a westerners point of view, but retains a lot of old world charm. It’s worth a small detour in old Mumbai to see this grand building.

Gloria Church (Also known in Portuguese as: Nossa Senhora de Gloria) was built in 1911-13 on one of the oldest Roman Catholic church sites in Mumbai. The church is situated in the Byculla, Mumbai. Limited parking. It’s a very busy area therefore finding a place to park on the street maybe difficult. Do visit if in the vicinity.
