Vancouver was founded as “Gastown” by an Englishman with a penchant for beer and storytelling. Today Gastown is a historic section of the Canadian metropolis, and the lively pubs still reflect the area’s former status as a sort of community drinking center. The city’s forests, grand parks, and impressive suspension bridge beckon travelers to explore them, as do the city’s shops and museums. Relive the glory of the 2010 Winter Games with visits to Olympic venues and the marvelous Olympic Cauldron.

I recently had the pleasure of seeing the play Always a Bridesmaid at this lovely gem of a theatre. It was my first time at this venue and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Top notch performances all around and excellent directing of this production. The theatre has very comfortable seats, a balcony and great sight lines. There’s even a bar where you can get some drinks before the play, at intermission and after the play. You can even mingle with the cast as they often have a drink after performing. Way better than NetFlix!

Thanks Stephen and Eaglerider Vancouver!! I have been a member and used the bike rental services for years now. The membership is great as it gives access to brand new bikes and the ability to reserve for trips. My own bike is in the shop and I've been able to rent for a few days to get in some riding at the end of the season. Stephen Carrier is a very helpful guy - he is efficient and helpful, provides everything you need, from the bike to the gloves, helmet, jacket, etc. Everything you need for the ride. I liked the fact that I could rent a Heritage Softail with a sidecar a few years ago. Don't think Stephen has it anymore, but it was a nice ride. Good tunes playing, great atmosphere, good selection of clothing and other gear, bike storage, mechanical services available, great clean bikes that are all low mileage, late model, Harley serviced. You can't go wrong with Eaglerider in Vancouver!!

Historic Joy Kogawa House is the childhood home of Canadian author Joy Kogawa. Joy and her family lived in the house until 1942, when they were sent to an internment camp along with thousands of other Canadians of Japanese descent. Now used as a site for author residencies and literary events, the house stands as a historical reminder of the internment experience of Japanese Canadians during WW2.
