This is a living history event that must have had over a 1000 re-enactors living, playing, and "fighting" in period piece regalia and props - some real to the actual time! Mississinewa 1812 is the largest War of 1812 living history event in the United States, and centers around the Battle of the Mississinewa. A very cool event for the whole family!

AMC Showplace Marion 12

We visited in the morning on July 4. The theaters were busier than I expected. Checking in at the ticket booth was quick and easy. The concessions only had 2 people working-1 at the register and 1 at the popcorn. Both were pleasant and calm. By the time we finished with our order, quite a line had formed. They probably needed another register open, but perhaps on the holiday that was not planned.
The theater seating was comfortable, well-lit for seating before the movie started, and clean. Everyone was respectful. The volume was perfect. There were no issues with the movie.
This is a smaller, but very nice and clean place for movies with the family.

Believe it or not this cemetery is a busy one with James Dean fans always dropping by to pay their respects to the late actor. Unfortunately several of the well wishers have stolen his headstone several times which required a replacement stone to be put in it's place several times.

Quilters Hall of Fame

Reviewed By Scott S - Marion, Indiana

We visited today, and really enjoyed the exhibits, but they desperately need more space and an elevator to make the second floor handicap accessible. Ideally, they could host all of the events for the annual Hall of Fame induction, but it was also fun running all over town today to see the various venues. We visited the library as well as a Baptist church to see more of the exhibits.

They are accepting donations for an elevator, and it looks like they have plans to take over the adjacent railroad station for an expansion.

The Hall of Fame also has a gift shop.

My family and I have visited this place a couple of times and although it is a pretty small, community pool the one feature that stands out is the wave pool. It gets some pretty good action going and everyone enjoys it a lot. Nestled on the east side of Marion, Indiana it has ample parking and easy access. The times we went it was busy but not so crowded that you couldn't enjoy yourself. They have a snack bar and plenty of seating and it is a good way to spend a hot summer day.
