The 10 Best Things to do in Marina Bay, Singapore

March 15, 2022 Merry Kessler

The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

Went up to the Marina Bay Sands Skypark to admire the view and enjoy a cocktail, following the advise of a colleague Trip Advisor review I purchased the ticket to get access to the Skypark terrace and used the fee paid to pay in part for a cocktail, the view is magnificent and the architecture is amazing. The restriction was to go to the pool area reserved only for guests, Enjoying a cocktail and the view and the people watching was fabulous , the weather was perfect and had a leisurely drink and edamame, there are two bars I spent my time closest to the infinity pool, the oposite side had a restaurant and a bar, Excellent time

During the day this can get very busy, particularly if there are cruise liners in port.trying to get photos by Merlion can be a challenge. Late evening as darkness falls, the crowds thin, and there is plenty of space. Great photo opportunities and around 9pm you get fantastic views of the MBS laser show - the financial district /2Fullertons are also well lit to provide a very attractive area with the river in between complimenting with evening traffic.

The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands

The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands(R) is one of Singapore's largest luxury shopping malls, with over 800,000 square feet of high-end retail shoppes such as Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu and Chanel. This eye-catching modern shopping mecca features a contemporary and open design, with breathtaking views of Singapore's city skyline. Located in the heart of the Central Business District, visitors can look forward to a refreshing mix of international luxury brands, emerging labels and new concepts.

The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands is a beautiful and stylish luxury shopping mall with a glass roof and amazing views of the Singapore financial district skyline. It has an excellent food court and you can visit the ArtScience Museum which is right outside the mall, as well as get the most amazing views of Singapore city skyline. There are some great restaurants here but what we really enjoyed was eating at the food court and enjoying the light display just in front above the round cordoned off area. We visit Singapore quite often for shopping and sightseeing and use it as a getaway, so we really like to come to this part of the island. With the ArtScience Museum and Gardens by the Bay which are nearby we will continue to visit the Shoppes in the future for shopping and eating and to enjoy the amazing views of Singapore's skyline.

Gardens by the Bay

An integral part of Singapore's "City in a Garden" vision, Gardens by the Bay spans a total of 101 hectares of prime land at the heart of Singapore's new downtown - Marina Bay. Comprising three waterfront gardens - Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central - Gardens by the Bay will be a showcase of horticulture and garden artistry that will bring the world of plants to Singapore and present Singapore to the World.

Reviewed By tregsact - Mollymook, Australia

We spent a fantastic day at the Gardens by the Bay. The gardens are amazing and offer so much variety. The highlights were definitely the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest Dome and they are definitely worth the entrance fees to see amazing diversity of plants, beautiful garden designs and creative sculptures and structures - especially the carved wood models of dragons, eagles, horses etc. The only slight disappointment for us was the additional charged display called Floral Fantasy. This was a timed entry display where you had to book for an hourly slot and was $20 per person. It literally took us less than 10 minutes to walk around the display - so it was poor value compared to the combined $28 for the much more impressive Flower Dome and Cloud Forest Domes.

Cloud Forest

Reviewed By makaan - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

It felt like being transported to a new world the moment we stepped into the entrance to Cloud Forest. We were greeted by a huge waterfall and imposing structure. Truly beautiful and breath-taking! Make sure you take your time to explore all levels of the cloud forest. Definitely worth it. It provides easily accessible pathways, and the walk can be at a moderate pace to enjoy the surroundings. One can see the flora and fauna of a forest without having to exert the physical exhaustion of climbing a mountain to see the different plants and foliage that exists at different levels of the forest, and the pleasant air-conditioning makes the visit very comfortable.
