A holy place for every Buddhist, Lumbini and the ancient ruins are associated with the birthplace of Buddha.
This is a place of History. Prince Siddhartha Gautam was born here. The child who would later be the founder of one of the most prominent religions in the World. Lumbini is located in the Terai plains of southern Nepal close to the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. This heritage place contains the Shakya tank, Monasteries, Ashoka Pillar, remains of the structure built in or much before the 3rd Century BC. Maya Devi, Queen Maya of Shakya Dynasty was the name of Buddha's mother. The Temple bears her name. The inside of the Temple has old ruins of the birthplace. Photography is not allowed here. One can quietly stand in a queue, pay respects once turn comes & leave quietly. The shakya tank is a pleasant sight. It has turtles & fish in it. Right behind the Tank is a grand old Tree around which the monks sit & meditate. The gardens surrounding the palace/Temple are lush & maintained beautifully. Lumbini is a sacred site and pilgrims from across the world come here to pay respects. I'm glad we visited this historical sacred place in the first leg of our Nepal Trip.

Either you go for a long hike to reach Ranimahal or you drive over there, even busses are running. The former king builded this palace for his whife after she passed away - nowadays a police station calles this place it's home. Completely in white, next to Khali Ghandaki the "Nepali Taj Mahal" is absolutely beautiful and worth a visit. By the way: Opposite you'll find a place to stay overnight - sleep in cosy tents and have a beach party!

First of all world peace pagoda is in pokhara nepal and not in lumbini. If youre pokhara you must go to the peace pagoda. Two ways to go, the easy way is taking a cab up and just enjoying the amazing view on top of the himalayam mountain range and phewa tal from one side and another amazing voew to the other side. The second way to go to world peace pagoda is by taking a boat from any port in pokhara the town to the other side and hike the trail up to world peace pagoda which take around 45 mns approximately depending on the pace, and in the hike youll get to enjoy the amazing view every step of the way of the lake On short world peace pagoda on a clear day is like heaven

This is miracle and a top attraction in Lumbini. Birth place of Lord Gautam Buddha is really peaceful and lovely. Places are very well preserved and decorated by many friendly Bouddhist nations near Nepal. I loved my visit to Lumbini.

A beautiful temple in Butwal for all religious friends. If you are planning to visit this temple specially in religious occasion or Monday and Saturday try to go early cause many people will be there and you have to wait in lines + be careful on the road, cause traffic used to be very busy here. And road is very very very close to the temple. Peace
